M laptimer automatically popping up at start

I picked up my 2018 m2 last week and the M laptimer app on my phone is opening each time I get into the car.
On my 2017 m2 this didn't happen.
If I turn off the app function on idrive the app won't open by itself.
Is there a way to have the bmw app on and the m laptimer not popping up?

I've seen this happen in my 2017...in fact, Spotify, BMW Connected and M Lap-timer (intermittently) open on my iPhone 6 when (I believe) Bluetooth connects...

Pretty weird

There was an update to the BMW Connected app a few months back that started this behavior. Sometimes apps would not be seen by the car, and this seemed to fix it. Mine opens four or so apps when I plug my phone in.

I don't use CarPlay. Will try it on iOS 11 this weekend to see if it's any better than 10.
