New Executive Package items for MY2018?

With the backup camera becomes mandatory standard for all new vehicles in May 2018, should we expect something different for that package?
Pretty sure BMW will just put that on the new selling price for 2018, kind of looking forward to how BMW will play this out.

Like their package combo, how they rearrange it to take that $1400 out of your pocket.
For me if the backup camera becomes standard, its a no brainer I dont need any add on.

For sure. If the backup camera came standard I would not have sprung for the exec package myself.

They'll probably add lane departure warning and front parking assist to the exec package just to irritate me as those are the two features I think should have been in MY 17.

If you want options get an M4. M2 doesn't need anymore uncessary options.

Performance oriented options only please.

The official explanation from BMW for not offering PDC in front was due to the shape of the front bumper. If they've overcome that hurdle with the LCI changes it may get it. Wait and see.

There is someone on here that retrofitted front PDC into the existing from bumper and it doesn't look bad at all. I think it was a cost thing.

I believe the lane departure warning is already in the current M2.

You should always turn your head and check. Your eyes are far far far more reliable than the current blind spot technology.

Or just set your mirrors right.

When I took delivery at the performance center they started by teaching us how to properly adjust our mirrors so there are no blind spots. Mind blown!

That's awesome. I'm gonna try to find a video/article about that. Was it easy adjusting to not being able to see your rear fender?

It's a little disorienting at first, but easy to get used to. There are BMW videos on YouTube that explain the process.

+1 on this. Difficult to get used to at first. And you have to learn to rely on your main rear view mirror to look into other lanes. But completely eliminates blind spots.

This video is great! Exactly what they talk you through at the performance center. Around minute three is the mirror adjustment (keep in mind he's talking about adjusting the mirrors with the doors closed), and the seat adjustments he talks about are great too.

The good thing for me is I currently use the BROADWAY mirror on my rear view and it shows a wide view. I rarely look at my right side mirror as the rear view covers it all. I'm gonna try to adjust the side mirrors and get used to it from now on.

BTW I hate it when my mirrors get adjusted by accident from a car wash. I always tell them to be gentle as pressure can cause them to move. My OCD will need to have it adjusted back to exactly how it was and it can take awhile. But now with the no blind spot method it won't be so bad anymore.

-To adjust the driver’s side-view mirror, place your head against the left side window and set the mirror so you can just barely see the side of the car in the mirror’s right side.

-To adjust the passenger’s side-view mirror, position your head so that it is just above the center console. Set the mirror so you can just barely see the side of the car in the left side of the mirror.
