I say wait until you can get a turbo s or a gt3 or something better. That's my plan at least. 🤷🏻*♂️

Very, very simple for me.
My wife had an RS3 (pretty much the same platform as the TTRS). I drive an M2. Hers was fun in a straight line, but if I had to go around a corner (any corner. Like, the one at the bottom of our drive). I'd drive my M2, thank you very much. Plus, of course, you'll probably take a hit for the mods you've made. |

If you're trying to scratch the build/mod itch (and believe me I get it...did that in college and ever since) I would also suggest thinking about keeping the M2 as your driver. But find something that's a true project to tinker and build. This of course assumes you have space to store the project car and work on it. That way, if you spend a few K on a starter project, you can just build it as you have time and money, and until you truly finish it (which could be never because they're never really done) you will always be able to scratch the itch but at the pace you are able to based on time/life and budget. Just my 2 cents. I had a 1998 Dodge Neon ACR in college (in 2002), which while not an M2, was still a blast to mod and drive! Good luck in your quest!

I was considering switching back to the gr86, my old stomping grounds. It has a significantly better engine that it's frs predecessor and the cheaper car means parts are significantly cheaper than the m2 (for $1k you can get a full exhaust and a bit more you can get one made out of titanium, whereas on the m2 it's 1.5k for a muffler delete which is just stupid) and track day insurance is much more affordable. Engines and transmissions are really cheap too if you unfortunately blow one.
So imo it's really enticing to move back, a much cheaper platform to work with and thus making it more appealing for me to track again.

Test drove the Boxster Base this week, and no sir. The Supra, not quite. Not sure even the Cayman S would. Maybe a bit closer. The M2C exceeds. Must wait and try out the Emira since nothing in class seems to compare.

I guess you are too immature and intellectually incompetent to answer the question. I pay for the M2 myself and pay my own insurance, all under my name. haha I love the hate buddy

I could maybe try to get an M2C but the Emira way out of my budget. I haven't test drove an M2C to be honest. people said it's a night and day difference but I don't see a point in getting one if my current OG M2 FBO big turbo. it's basically making M2C power and sounds better

It's more of the power to weight ratio for me, and the light wiefjt feel is amazing. I love the mx5 for this reason too. Then the other car in okay is the GTR, but it would be even worse than the m2 for mods and track insurance and defeat the entire purpose of going cheaper.
