Where will m2 cpo prices be by 2019?

I'm interested in a cpo m2 currently but, I am stuck with a 340 lease until 2019. With all the hype of the m2 competition coming soon. I know many owners will dump the older Bmw m2. Currently I see prices starting to slide and might be a good time to pick up a cpo.

This thread is to just guess where prices might be by next year. I think high 30s to very low 40s for a cpo m2; is possible.

Well according to this poll http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1485035, not as many as you think.

Probably a good range for a 2-3 year old M2 in 2019.

I think that you are undervaluing the car. I would say that it will be mid 40's at the lowest, depending on mileage of course.

They are already possible to grab for 46-48k. A year from now it will drop another 6-10k.

enjoy your car. if you really don't plan on selling it then it doesn't matter right?

but what others have said is right. you can snag one for ~$47k with super low miles right now, which is still high imo.

once lease returns come up and these cars hit the 20k mileage range they will go to the price point op estimated. the 2016 for sure. that car has nothing to offer compared to a 2017 (new nav), 2018 (lci), and then obviously the m2 comp.

regardless of what people say on the forum people WILL buy the m2 comp and it'll sell like hot cakes. ever see what happens when a comp PACKAGE is introduced to an M model? people just need to be realistic.

They wont drop that much, and it is very expensive to CPO an Mcar right now compared to a non-Mcar.

Glad you enjoyed it, it's just something to go by, but take it as you will.

Keep in mind that the M2C will have a higher MSRP. Meaning, you shouldn't expect the base M2s to depreciate too much. The appeal of the M2 has always been the performance/price ratio. That ratio becomes less attractive at the higher price point of the M2C. I suspect demand for the base M2 will remain high in the used market.

People won't just dump and there will be a premium on the competition. I really think there will be more m3/4 drivers switching cars. The nice thing about the first m2 is 55k the new spec with add-ons will be above 60k . Seems close but it's a big gap in demo for buying.

46 to 48k is miles from smiles compared to 30-40k.

Maybe buy a M235/240i if you're on a budget.

it's not realistic to assume m2s are going to flood lots off lease. The lease deals were so terrible I doubt many were leased.

however I do agree prices will free fall for other reasons

I don't see a 'free fall' on prices, as not many people will be willing to take a big loss just to move into a newer model.

I agree that not many M2s are leases, as BMW made that deal pretty unattractive.

This forum is kind of funny with the segment of people who know what the M2C will cost & how it will render the current model obsolete. No offense meant, it's just funny.

I bought my MY18 knowing that another model was coming with an S55. There's always a new model coming. Just wait until the same folks postpone getting the M2C while they wait for the next iteration. Doesn't matter to me. My lowly N55 will still provide the same performance it does today, and I'll have the same enjoyment. After all, it's only a car... my DD. Far more important things in my life.

my thought is that the leases were so unattractive that many didnt go that route. so lease returns wont be high enough to impact price as much as normal. I think the milestone that will effect price is when people start trading in or upgrading as the warranty expires. lots of people out there dont want to own cars out of warranty

I don't think the M2C is going to make much of a difference as it's not like the M2 is a high volume car. There may become a time where buyers in the used market have the option of a used LCI and Comp but seeing the Comp will have a higher MSRP it's going to naturally carry a higher price used.
