Pfaff BMW gave me a hard no, and the sales guy was actually quite rude to me when I was shopping.

BMW Toronto was more accommodating. The only m2 they had was in the showroom at the time, so I took out an m240 to get a feel for the size of the car and it’s interior. My SA offered to schedule a second test drive on a day when he could get the m2 moved outside, but I just ended up ordering a new one.

I think a lot of dealers will resist a test drive unless it’s very clear you are a motivated buyer and will put down a deposit that day.

Yup. It seems like alot of them are automatic though.

@OP. If they won't let you test drive a M2, you should test drive a M240i. I did that initially to get a feel for the car.

I always test drive the same model I am interested in before making the purchase, including M2. Adam from Performance BMW in St Catherine is a great guy to deal with.

I follow the same rule.
If it's possible to test drive an R8, it should be doable with M2. Considering the number of cars available, I don't see a point of buying blind.

One of the critical points for me is to assess ride quality since the car will be a daily driver. As far as I know 240i is considerably "softer" when it comes to suspension setup.

I test drove an M2 at Pfaff, but that was after having a deposit down and they had wrapped their launch M2 and were using it as a promo car.

I know for a fact that one of the Salesman at Newmarket BMW has one. Call their Sales Manger Sam. He will hook you up. It is not run in yet and it is a stick.
Tell him Greg sent you.
