Not familiar with the installation, so which wire did you attach incorrectly?

So the other night I'm lying awake racking my brain on every step I've taken and where the problem could be. I'm staring at the photos in the first thread of this post and looking at the O2 sensor connectors and suddenly it occurs to me. Aha! Can you spot the problem?

When I reattached the connectors, they both clicked. What I didn't realize is there are (2) bumps on the receiving sleeve and I had only pushed the connectors over the first one. Look closely at the attached photo with the arrows below and see how the connectors are only pushed over the first bump/ridge. Simply pushing the connector on farther over the second bump/ridge solved the problem. Told you I'm an idiot!

The car starts right up. I clear the codes and everything is perfect. I put the Fabspeed Cat back on the car (in 45 minutes!), and re-flash the car to BM3 stage 2. No codes, no tamper code, nothing.

So there you go, my story has a happy ending.

I did reach out to both proTUNING Freaks and Fabspeed Motorsport and they were both very helpful in trying to pinpoint the issue and I can't thank them enough. The car is absolutely amazing with the Sportcat and BM3 stage 2 and I couldn't be happier. PTF and Fabspeed rock!

I will be writing a follow-up thread to this one I'll title, "How to install the Fabspeed Sportcat for dummies" that will provide additional pointers on how to make the install easier.

Thanks for reading and happy motoring!

I can answer this because it's what I've just gone through. You are correct, you flash the car back to stock and lock. That's what I did last month before I took the car in for service and they did the ISTEP update, and the dealer didn't mention or notice my tune.

As they claim, BM3 removed the tamper code 201101 I had for a short while. I now have the latest BMW updates and BM3 back on the car and no codes.
