My advice would be wait till the Comp is out for a little and see what people are saying about it/how it performs etc. Availability will be low in the beginning as demand will be high and I'm sure there will be dealer mark ups as well. Just wait a few months and then make a choice. No reason to make a rushed decision you might regret down the road.

Sounds like great advise.

OTOH, M2 sales have picked up, with dealers making deals and already having zero inventory. There may be just a few left by the time the reviews from trusted sources come out (September?). It’s a tough decision - save money and drive a great car now or spend more and get a great car in a year or so after initial demand starts to fall off.

Best thing to do is not to listen to others, but when the comp is out, drive them both back to back to form your own opinion

too much emotion in this forum both ways

Highly doubtful that you can even test drive the M2 Competition when it comes out.
