No idea.

I want to test the ZCP wheels from the E90 M3.

Will try to find time.
thank you! ZCP has aggressive offset for M2 so if it fits than most aftermarket wheels should.

also, any plans to lower M2? would love to see ZCP wheels in lowered M2

When you cycle throught the on board computer the coolant shows like this

After 2-3 seconds, it becomes like this

Dummy gauge

Really dumb move

An M car Has to have an oil gauge.

It should even be a BMW Performance option instead of the ton of Carbon Products.

Doesn't that use some kind of calculation to get a water/oil temp combo? I think it's explained somewhere around here...maybe the tech doc?

CF pics somewhat unsettling
looks kinda cheap and must be hard to keep clean.
it also seems uninviting to the touch. given that it covers an area around the driving mode buttons and middle console i'm guessing it won't be something you can avoid.

uae247, please do excuse me for asking, but what does it feel like?

Feels like a cheap knock off plastic part
Even when you knock on it

Well, that sucks. BMW trying to start a new trend with the "dry" carbon fiber. I'm hoping it's a taste thing and that I still like it. The idea sounds cool but doesn't seem like it's working out in practice.

Thanks for the detailed descriptions and pics so far.

I'm wondering if these can be clear coated, or something, I know open weave CF used on knife handles for example feel cheap but they do wear well and stay clean for the most part.

I'm curious about the 359's too. They would look stunning on the M2 but it looks like 15mm added to the rear offset is going to be too much. Please do share your findings. Thanks!

Page 64 of the M2 Technical Training (that you can find in the manuals sticky) shows an M2 featuring 8500 RPM (Comment: "Speed and engine speed display correspond to the drive concept (300 km/h in 30 km scale divisions, 8,000 rpm).").

Photoshop error ...or did the editors mix up with the M2 CS instrument cluster ?

This was also pointed out in the "BMW M2 Technical Training document: answers to many questions" thread (Feb 8, 2016).

Unfortunately, recently that thread has mysteriously vanished from the M2 forum. Too bad, because it contained some interesting discussions.

Is there no digital speedo anywhere? Or any option to turn it on?

You can toggle through so that it display the digital speedo instead of the number of miles left till the tank is empty

I sat in the car at Houston Auto Show, felt the interior trim and liked it a lot, didn't feel like i would have any issues with it. Also i liked the overall look of it a lot better than the glossy CF trim in M3/M4.

That's just stupid; on par with the missing oil dipstick.

I finally came back and managed to get some miles on the car.

First thing,
Cold start is just awesome on this car and any start actually.
Long gone is the rattle of the F80 M3, which I didn't miss (but I do miss the power of the S55

Interior,
Well, I have to learn to live with a sunroof, so I am keeping it vented....strange feeling but what to do!
The open pore carbon fiber is strange. At certain angles it looks like plastic, then you touch it and realise it is actual carbon without the clear coat. Mercedes is coming up with a Matt carbon fiber on their new C63 Coupe which looks awesome.

This is strange, I wish BMW continued the blue stitching all the way to the handbrake.

Driving,
This car feels light and the front end has grip. It does sound like a deep decatted M235i with lots of overrun and burps when lifting the throttle at high RPM (note that I am still in break in with no full throttle yet and 5k rpm)
Love the sound of it and I think it will be even better without cats and a nice exhaust.

Power,
The car has so much torque it just moves. It is just strange that this is one of the first M power cars to feature a 7k RPM only on the gauge (the 1M has 8K showing on its RPM gauge.) The car seems to run out of RPM range with this limited display, but there is enough power and torque. However, you will miss the power of the S55, but not the delivery which is more linear in here compared with the M3.

Drive Modes
I don't know what BMW was thinking but why use the M235i driving modes on this car???
There are three modes, with automatic setup of the throttle and steering but all of those change once you switch on DSC or use MDM.
I usually drive with DSC off, and in this car it puts everything into sport and not sport+. Then, if you decide to use cruise control it cancels the DSC and returns to comfort mode. I then have to change it again to Sport.
If I was in Sport+ and use cruise control, it will revert back to Sport.

I really miss the M buttons and the ability to program them into what I want and not the way BMW intended. That is my only gripe at the moment till I get more miles on it.

The gauges are M gauges in the morning, but become normal gauges at night....WHY!!!

M Spec in the morning

Turning into normal Orange BMW gauges at night

Oh,
I managed to paint the BMW grills since the M2 Performance grills were not available yet
Aren't you able to customize the driving modes in the idrive menu, which works the same way as using the M button in the M3?

Yeah, that's also what i thought i read somewhere, can anyone clarify this?
What good is just water temp, surely oil temp is just as if not more important, i use the oil guage to determine when i can start pushing the car from a cold start.
