Why wouldn't they fit? I'll speak to my parts man tomorrow and let you know.
That would be great CC, let us know how you go with your parts man.

Good install guide on the M4 forum for the belt swap - pretty straight forward by the looks of things. Guys says the belts are approx $400.

Initial enquiry this morning might suggest this isn't going to be straightforward. GTS belt mechanism is larger than 2 series and will likely not fit - although my contact is talking to technical for clarification.
I've asked to see if it's possible just to swap out the physical belt chord form one and insert in the existing one.

I would not want to start taking the belts apart.... but I do see from the IND links Artemis posted that there are M3 and M4 parts available. Im tying to confirm if the M3 variety would fit?

Had a definitive reply this end. M4 GTS will not fit in M2. It would be possible to remove both belts from both the reels and install them on then M2 reel but it would require them to be cut and re-stitched - which obviously BMW does not advise. But getting them professionally restitched wouldn't be too much of a problem - a saddle makers for instance would have the chord/and technique to do this properly.

CC - let us know if you find differently.

Thanks for the feedback. As it's no plug 'n play, no go. Safety first !

I think I may have found the part numbers needed at least for Europe models.

Go into realoem and bring up the front seat belt diagram for the M2. It shows the standard black seatbelts as 72117265809 and 72117265810 with a text below saying 'only together with Pos.9'.

Click on the part number and it shows these parts to fit F21,F22,F87,F32 and F82. Click on the F82 M4 link.

Now there seems to be 'Active Protection' seatbelts and non 'Active Protection' seatbelts. The first diagram show non 'Active Protection' but only shows different colours i.e. Oyster etc. But the second diagram shows all the coloured belts with the same text as the M2 diagram saying 'only together with Pos.9'.

Scroll further down though and you will see

For vehicles with
Competition package
S7MAA=Yes
01 UPPER BELT FRONT LEFT 1 72118058479
only together with Pos. 9
01 Upper belt, front right 1 72118058480
only together with Pos. 9

Therefore I believe 72118058479 and 72118058480 may be the parts required but it is hard to decipher if these are 'Active Protection' or not.

Hmmm, could be some life in this, I've followed your RealOEM advice and it would appear the belts minus the active protection are available for the M4/3 competition pack cars - which look like the smaller housing needed for the M2.

Just fired off a re-request to my parts guy and will see what he comes back with.

Thanks for your input.

I have no skin in the game but asked my guys anyway. They are as confused as us, but think that the information provided by bluebro is correct. They're working to confirm it.

They start at around 900 euros and looks mint. Just search for 'f22 sitze'.
I think the alcantara interior would look nice in a lbb.
I looked into that due to the manual seat being an option. Airbags cannot be shipped so add those plus the freight (to USA) and it gets up there in price. The existing airbags in the stock M2 seats might fit. I was not willing to go through the hassle. It would be a nice look, though.

Seriously call them ask for Nate. They put bright blue belts in a 235 and are very familiar with the swap procedure. You cannot just retrofit from a different BMW. I don't think it's cheap but is doable.

Had another update from my parts guy who's investigated further. His technical guys are saying the parts might fit (the m4 non active ones pointed out from realoem) but it's not been tested so they cannot advise. Also both the left and right are showing as unavailable at the warehouse at the minute with a note attached "awaits H&S data sheet". He said ETA shows end of March currently.

He is going to order them in when available and take a look himself and either send them back or fit them if he thinks they'll work.

When I contacted https://www.bartact.com/products/uni...nt=20010008581, they offered to send color swatches (asked for red, blue and navy).

Received the swatches and ordered the blue to match the blue seat striping and to brighten up the black interior on my LBB.

Checkout @gaphix on Instagram or Gaphix design haus on facebook as they have already done blue belts to match LBB and it looks good. I have been meaning to contact them myself to find out pricing info but haven't yet.
If anyone has more info please PM me or post up.

I just got the Yellow ones from Bartact, and I am going to return them and exchange them for Blue. The Yellow is too "warm" and I do not think it fits with the interior nor the MG exterior color of the car.
