It was pretty good. Would have liked to get more comments about the gearboxes on E90 and the F8x cars. I know they thought the M2 gearbox was a little mushy but I didn't hear what they thought about the M4 or the E90. I also wish they had included a Z4M even though it isn't an M3 of course. It has a lot in common with the 1M/M2 being an E46 M3 parts-bin car.

The preview made me go look on Autotrader to see if there are any clean LSB E46 M3 verts around. No such luck.
But the urge to add a 3rd and final M3 is at an all time high

They did a great job. Especially for the budget. I love their writing as well, although I have to say this...
One thing that has bothered me as of late is hearing people harp on the m2's steering. If you honestly get out of that car, and say that the turn in isn't great, let alone amazing, I question your opinion. Its my favorite aspect of the car. Even some cayman drivers/gt4 boast about the M2's turn in, and we all know a cayman GT4 probably makes the M2 feel like a toy car made of hot rubber. It's almost like certain groups of journalists read each-others reviews then create these echo chambers of similar negative remarks because they don't want to be known as the Autoweek of their niche. "What's the cool negative thing to say about this chassis?". Daily Driver is not a main offender, I think the recipe they began with is awesome. I'm all for opinions but when I can guess the comments they'll have on individual aspects of any car based on other reviews, it starts to become annoying. This "enthusiast" angle in auto journalism feels like it starting to trend towards an "elitist" mindset as of late. And not for the right reasons, it's not original. We get it, Clarkson made car reviews interesting to the masses because Top Gear had the ability to knock on a car if they didn't like it. Which was pretty unheard of, networks wouldn't air negative reviews because of the Ad revenue they received from the industry. I love a well placed "Clarkson-esque" metaphor just as much as anyone else, and these guys do it really well. But embellishing just for the sake of adding more takes away from the final product for me. To the cars: I've had both racks, the e92 and now the F87. I think the experience and "feel" the F87 delivers, combined with the chassis and drivetrain is Leagues better than the e92. Sure I don't feel as many pebbles on the road, but I would take the M2's initial turn in and front end grip over many things. |

One of the reviewer had actually place a M2 order, you can see and feel his agony trying to decide between the 1M and the M2 as #1. I strongly believe the M2 is a great car and the steering feel would be good enough for most people, the point he was raising is to drive the M2 and 1M back to back, you will then feel the difference.

Was it just me or was their some type of audio disfunction / drone during the entire F8X segment? I could barely pay attention.
I felt like they took their time and did a good job explaining most of the cars but 90% of what was said is kind of common knowledge. It would have been nice to hear more about the differences between the cars since they had them all there, or maybe do a few performance tests and comment on those. I also felt they didn't even consider a car >10 years old when picking their top 3 which surprised me since the e46 seemed to be a big favorite during that car's segment. It was a really good watch though and it makes me second guess if I should sell / trade-in my 1M next year or add to it (all things considered). I've owned an e36 M3 coupe 5spd and an F82 coupe 6spd and totally agree with everything they have said. 1M is still a goldilocks car and such a fun car to drive. |

Great video! I purchased it as well. Glad to see the M2 scoring as high up as it did.

Rented but having issues with Vimeo... they just don't have a solid server situation. I can pull 11 MB/sec down, but am having buffering issues with this at 1080p
Edit: got through it. I don't know if it's worth paying for, but it is basically a very well-done YouTube video. If you love these cars, it's probably worth watching. I can't get over some of the reviewers of the M2 though. Evo says the suspension is overly harsh. These guys say it absorbs imperfections. Which is it! |

They bashed on the M2's shifter (worst or the group!) and steering pretty badly. But ranked it nearly best overall. Hmmmm
They definitely appeared to love the older cars more but then seemed to dismiss them later. |

Granted, I haven't driven a 1M but I thought it was interesting that they said the 1M felt so much more grounded than the M2 and that they were always needing to pay attention to how the car was reacting in turns compared to the 1M, which is the opposite of what I have heard, and what I have experienced with my M2.

Well then I must be one of the few who are smitten with this old girl. Simply love the ridiculous flared fenders and boisterous hotwheels look. Don't think you will ever see one like this from BMW again.

Just finished watching, it was a really great film, specially for BMWs fans like myself.
I own an M3 and I have driven several M2 on the track, and I got to say, I think that the F80 is more special, more powerfull, looks better and has way better interior. I would NOT trade my 2016 M3 for a 2017 M2 ever. BTW, was a well worth $3.99 Thank you guys, it is an epic movie.

Looks better? Arguable. Way better interior? Absolutely. More special? Depends what "special" means. I have driven both. Given what I am looking for, M2 all the way. |
