You can get Fabspeed's full exhaust suite for the same price or cheaper than the MPE! Fabspeed's options will provide better sound and actual performance gains, unlike the MPE! Here is a link to our exhaust suite on our site! Feel free to PM me or call at 215-646-4945, just ask for Bobby and I would be glad to assist!

Our Sport Cat Downpipe gives the M2 the power punch it needs to out-perform others while still being CEL free!

The Muffler Bypass Exhaust provides an intoxicating sound and 3 different style tips, the most popular being our Brushed Single-Wall Stainless!

So with MPE the exhaust acts like the normal exhaust but louder (comfort with MPE is sport with regular?) and then you use the blue tooth key fob for "Track mode"? That's my understanding of it, is that correct?

Can you sport cat direct fit to mpe? I assume it can as on your company website says the sport cat can be directly bolt on. Please let me know.

But the Fabspeed exhaust is not an OEM part...

Otherwise, it looks like a good product. Is it me or the muffler looks very "minimalist"?!?

Oh boy! That will be VERY loud.

Why are they doing a muffler delete suite... For track only?

Our Sport Cat Downpipe is designed to mate to the factory style exhaust flange, which is what almost all exhausts for the M2 will have! Good to go!

You have to hear it in person, it sounds incredible! I definitely wouldn't say it's too loud with the factory downpipe. There is only slight droning at times (it does delete the muffler after all) but overall the tone is fantastic.

We offer a full Valvetronic Exhaust and the Muffler Bypass Exhaust for the M235i. The latter has become one of our best selling exhaust systems company-wide while interest in the Valvetronic has been minimal due to an abundance of competing systems. While we could produce a valvetronic system, we sought to seek a unique position in the market with our Muffler Bypass Exhaust. If you are worried about it ruining the driving experience of your M2 due to increased volume, it may not be the system for you. If you want an aggressive, exhilarating tone - it's made exactly for you.

Some wuestions about the Fabspeed system.... Forgive my ignorance but is one supposed to fit the sports cat downpipe AND the muffler bypass system ? Or is it one OR the other ? If the former, which is the louder choice ? If you fit the just the down pipe doesn't that mean the noise and exhaust gasses exit under the engine rather than at the back of the car ? Once one / both are fitted is it possible, when driving past a policeman, to slot the car into 5th gear and go relatively quietly past at 2000 rpm ? I'm going to have to drive across the Swiss border every day and they are notoriously fussy about noise. Is it possible to leave the standard exhaust in place but disconnect it, fit a sports cat down pipe and, if necessary join the two up again if you get into trouble or when you have to undergo an annual control ?

No problem, I love all the questions about our system!

You are able to fit just the Sport Cat Downpipe or just the Muffler Bypass Exhaust or you can do both! In my opinion, the mildest sound option would be doing just the Sport Cat Downpipe. Next, would be just the Muffler Bypass Exhaust. Then finally the loudest would be doing both the Sport Cat and the Muffler Bypass.

Fitting just the Sport Cat Downpipe on the car would not release the exhaust gasses under the car because the downpipe still connects to the factory midpipe. The midpipe connects the downpipe to the rear section of the exhaust.

If you leave the car in Comfort Mode, you will not get any of the "popcorn" sound with the backfires. This should get you past the Swiss police .

Our exhaust systems are designed to bolt directly into factory settings. Simply remove the OEM setup and replace with ours!

Not really, I guess that in a country like the USA where people are way freer than we are you can drive a car with that kind of stuff.

For example, in the USA when you drive a straight pipes Harley, cops give you thumps up, here in Canada you get a ticket for non conform muffler. The same ticket that you will get if a cop catch you driving your M2 with MPE in track mode on the roads...

With the MPE, you can switch to Sport with the Bluetooth

I know, but cops will get used to it and we will get ticket for non conform exhaust when caught using the MPE in track mode on the roads. A thing I'll never do of course.

Hum I'm confused. I would have thought having just a downpipe means the gas and noise comes out through the shortest route and is therefore the noisest solution with no other pipes or muffler. Surely routeing the noise through additional pipes will result in less noise ? In other words the longer the pipe the quieter it is. I'm not mechanically minded - just a dumb blonde !

You are correct! Not only does the Sport Car Downpipe give the M2 a little more rumble but it also provides hp/tq gains! Check out the dyno graph below:

If you purchased just the Sport Cat Downpipe it would still bolt to the rest of the exhaust system. I will explain with photos below:

Here is a photo of the downpipe installed on one of our customer's M2.

The end of the downpipe will connect to the top portion of the exhaust. Here is a photo of the OEM exhaust. The red circle represents where the Sport Cat Downpipe attaches to the rest of the exhaust system:

Hopefully that gives you a better understanding of how the exhaust is set up!

The best sounding exhaust to your ears is the best. There will be very little difference in terms of performance after the cat.

Some are lighter than the other.

Then there is the appearance factor in tip style, finish and size.

Cool, but you can't really tell which car is revving lol. Assuming the Milltek cat-back is the louder

Hey FS I'm assuming this DP will also be compatible with the MPE? I'd love to give it a try.

It absolutely is compatible with the MPE. The Sport Cat + MPE is one of the most popular setups on these cars.

Check your PMs! I'd love to get you set up with one.
