Body Coloured M3/4 Style Mirrors Fitted

Ok, so I know in my review i said
Quote:
now I have driven it, I don't care about the lack of mirrors..
However, I saw these last week and couldn't resist. You can have them body colour, carbon or gloss black... seem pretty good quality & great service: http://www.autoid.uk.com/store/bmw/mstylewingmirrors

Nah... Looks like the stock mirrors melted in the sun. Doesn't flow at all like the real M mirrors.

Disclaimer: my personal opinion.

Too square compared to M4 mirrors.

Besides cost has anyone looked at fitting M3/M4 mirrors on a M2?

I meant body coloured they look more OEM than the carbon hobbies....Agree they are more square than real M mirror, but thats also the style of the F2x/87. Will see how i get on with them for a few weeks, but certainly they add a bit of differentiation over the standard models now

I am surprised we haven't seen real M3 mirrors retrofitted - maybe it isn't a simple job.

The base is different so someone needs to make their own base or fit the M4 mirror on the stock base somehow.

I like them. I installed the carbons, and couldn't care less if others don't like them. Don't recall them helping me pay for the car.

Ah, that would be the dream... Everyone that have a comment about your car would have to pitch in.

Wouldn't take them even if they were free. Look like crap from the back side that you can't see in the pictures.

some mixed reactions then! so far I am more liking them then not.
May be some increased wind noise, hard to tell without trying the old ones back on - but then it is a 5 minute job to swap them, so easy

And the 'wings' on the mirrors give it exactly the downforce required for a 7:47 Nordschleife laptime, let's not forget that

I think they look alright btw. But I'm not into mirrors, they always break when I look in them

Cheers
Robin

Looks good OP, it's 'the look' and best that can be achieved with the rectangles we've been given.

It's a good effort, but I prefer them as they came out the factory.
I'm also not convinced that the M2 would look any better with f80 style mirrors OEM.
