Just had a couple more Sport Cat Downpipes ordered up today! This is definitely the hot ticket item for these cars!

I had my Fabspeed sport cat fitted today. A couple of months ago I got rid of ASD via the bypass harness. I am running stock exhaust. I've only driven 20 miles or so on the new downpipe but wow - what a marked, positive difference. My first impression/feeling was that with the sportcat installed, ASD appeared to be back, and back in a good way. Obviously its not back as the harness is doing its thing (sending a no input signal to the amp) but the sportcat puts the sound back in the cabin - au natural!!

Sounds noticeably more raspy with more energy to the pops and burbles, you can also really hear and feel the turbo working more efficiently, it comes "on" sooner and the car feels more eager to go go go! (I guess because of the reduction of back pressure - allowing the gasses to escape quicker - and the design of the DP itself as the cat is located closer to the turbos than oem design). Sound from the stock exhaust when you hit 4,500 plus rpm is intoxicating. 20 miles in and very impressed. Lets hope no CEL in the future!!

Will likely go for MPE once the redesigned version is out - I love the Remus, especially how the mufflers are well hidden up inside the car, but MPE is cheaper and retaining warranty is a nice touch - plus MPE is made by Akrapa (or so I'm led to believe) so neither is a bad option!

Just wanna thank Bobby at Fabspeed, my sport downpipe arrived today and all looks good.

I also managed to weight it (in kg) , does anyone know the weight of the stock cat? I don't have it off yet.

Cheers

Haven't weighed it but felt the difference by hand and the Fabspeed is quite a bit heavier than OEM.

Can you tell me what is the HJS No. for this sport cat, as I'm possible thinking to order just the core from you folks.

In theory yes, but the Fabspeed is in a totally different league in terms of build quality - the tubes feel thicker and the whole thing feels more solid. Plus the HJS actual cat piece is way superior/heavier I guess than the non HJS on OEM so even though physical cat is larger on OEM it doesn't weight as much as the 200 HJS cell.

I wonder if the BMW service guys/techs can even tell that the stock DP was changed. They look pretty damn similar tbh

I say the same thing. It's so tucked up in there as well that I doubt anyone would even notice.

You guys are the bomb! I'm writing a review/comparison as we speak. it will include videos of the stock exhaust, then with a dinan resonator delete added, and lastly with the fabspeed sportcat added. It's also going to include a fairly detailed write up of my thought process and why i went with a sport cat and res delete vs no cat vs a catback/axleback exhaust. will be posting it in the Engine / Drivetrain / Exhaust / Bolt-ons / Tuning section of the forum tmrw.

I can't wait to see the videos and hear your impressions. I plan on doing the same thing as you, and maybe even adding the Dinan cat-back and intake. My resonator delete pipe is already in the basement, holding up my box of ER charge pipes & TIC pipes.

This is what I like to hear! I can't wait for all of this!

That's an interesting combo. This could be the best "value" as far as gains and sound go for the price. I've been waivering heavily on what to buy and have been going back and forth on the plethora of options out there, but I'm not keen on spending a ton of money (Saving my pennies for a GT4, haha). I can't wait to see your write up and hear this combo.

How much would be the sport cat + shipping to Poland?
I'll get my M2 in some time but would like to know in advance.
I think this will perfectly enhance MPE sound

I would love to get you some pricing. Check your PMs and we can chat some more!

Our Sport Cat + MPE combination is a great sound on both the M235i and the M2. Probably one of the more popular combos.
