Awron Display for F87 M2

I would surmise this had previously been posted here. If not this a very cool gadget for an M2.

You have, in fact, correctly surmised.

Is this thing any good? It certainly looks pretty trick. Install is a DIY job?

It's straight forwards enough to do yourself in a couple of hours. Awron provide very detailed instructions on their website. There is a 'fitting' thread on here somewhere

That video is the one I made last year and I shared it with Awron.

Any questions about the display, feel free to share them. Perhaps I can help

Hey there. Thanks for the offer!

Can the screen be turned off? I assume so, but just wanted to check...

If the screen can be turned off, can the unit record data on a certain run with the screen off, and then display that data in snapshots when the screen has been turned on again--or does the screen need to be on to register data?

If the screen needs to be on, is there still a way to get it to freeze and hold data from a given run (say, at peak values), for review after the run--or do you have to take your eyes off the road to see the data in real time?

Does it come pre-calibrated in some way, so we have high confidence in the data it displays?

I will say that is a very good video. Editing and pace are good with well selected accompanying music that is background and doesn't distract from the visuals.

The digital note of each process is excellent and easy to follow. Keep the good work!

It's reasonably accurate but I wouldn't rely on it as my only form of data logging, there are a few bugs in it.

Yup if you keep scrolling with the left toggle, you end up on the page with the Awron image, two seconds later it switches off

It cannot record data, but you can connect a laptop via the CAN bus USB cable connected to it, so if you have an app on your laptop you can record it there.

It always holds peak values for certain screens and so on. You can later see these peak values. It is saved in the background if you want to keep your screen off. When you switch it on you can see the peak values for certain options, not all. For some things you need to pull your eyes from the road and look at the screen, you can also put a Go Pro on it as I did in the video above.

The data is CAN bus data, it comes directly out of the car. It does not need pre-calibration, because the data is calibrated data from within the car.

Please share the bugs with me and I will put them on the technical desk at Awron! In the end, we all want a really good product, so just let me know if there is anything that needs to be improved and we will let them work on it.

Not sure who you speak to at Awron Marc? I've been speaking to Ante about thee bugs who advised the devs are aware of my issues but that they are working on a new version on the OS. Do you have any info an eta of this new version?

Thanks. Sounds good. Right now, I'm most interested in peak boost, peak hp, peak torque and peak AFR (or AFR progression over a run).

Come to think of it, what hp/torque does this unit measure? At crank/flywheel or at the wheels? Gotta be flywheel?
