Can extra-confirm that the clutch is light. It is scary light to me, feels like there's nothing there. Very weird.

That's what I was afraid of. I was hoping for a little more rawness and connectedness out of this car.

And won't the Hi-Fi system save a little weight over the HK system. I know, not much, but no subs and a lighter amp?

Unless we are saving 70 - 100kg from base weight, which is tough to do on this chassis, it's not worth the worry.

It's not nearly as bad as has been made out to be.

The clutch is light, yes, but only as light as it needs to be to be comfortable for daily driving. My Z4MC has a heavy ass clutch and I wouldn't want to have to DD that thing.

Seeing as I won't be able to test a manual M2, would the manual M240 have a similar clutch? Just looking to test the weight / drivability to see if I can live with going back to a stick...

The M3 should have the same clutch, I think.

I went to a track event yesterday that Classic BMW in Plano was running. One of the guys that was there from the dealership said they have an un-allocated performance edition M2 coming in. He said the price tag was around $55K, though maybe he was just rounding down from the $58,200 the posted price list would put the car and performance package at.

I think in a manual seat if you're not too weak opening for rear access is a bit quicker.

Minor point I know.

Correct, the same clutch feel in my experience. Surprisingly my M3 shifter felt slightly smoother, but that could be because it is more "broken-in".

So what are the odds of even getting one with this limited production. It makes me mad, just build the damn car if people want it.. I'm sick of everything being exclusive and limited now with bmw.. this is an add on package of parts.. camaro has a 1le package like this and it's avaialable on all camaros v6 and v8.. why try to limit it when you can make money and sell more units

I think this stripper M2 is built for speculators, not racers.

This E36 lightweight is also one of 125, had the same engine output as a regular M3 of the day and offered negligible weight savings.

This car has 100 documented miles and bid up to $154,000 and did NOT sell because it didn't make the reserve!
