6MT install

Here's the 6MT installation. Interestingly the clutch pedal is plastic, as is the accelerator pedal, while the brake pedal is steel.

Installation was straight forward. Tight clearance behind the brake pedal making it a challenge to wrench the nuts. The do not look crooked to my eyes.

Found this official BMW pdf, same as what everyone says. It gives you drill bit sizes. 4.5mm and 2.8mm.

I think some people may be references the top of each of the pedals not all being on the same line. Mine were port installed and look exactly the same but the brake pedal does look a little tilted left from this perspective.

Does anyone have any links handy for the Torx bolts supplied with this kit?

Not at all. The rubber is really what your foot touches where it pokes through the slots in the metal cover, and I've had no issues with slipping.

It looks like you've installed the clutch cover on your brake pedal

That has to be the reason the car goes into neutral when I hit the brake pedal.

How much does this change the "feel" when manipulating gas and brake or is it mostly just cosmetic?

Fixed, my OCD would not let me end the day without the fix. Thanks for the heads up.

They do look a lot better. I'm surprised these cars don't come standard with them like most performance cars do these days.

I installed mine today. All went well, even drilled through the brake pedal with no problem. the PROBLEM was one of the holes was way off. I think when I marked them the rubber piece was a little twisted. I'd suggest putting the metal piece on as well as the rubber piece to ensure it's in the exact right place. I marked my holes with a paint marker. That seemed to work well.

That one nylock nut on the brake pedal is a pain to get to. I ended up jamming a small flathead screwdriver in between the flat on the nut and side edge of the pedal, wedging the nut in place. After that tightening was no sweat. Well, it was 95 in the garage, so sweat was involved.

I like these. It's the first thing I've changed on the car in a while. Can't leave well enough alone, it seems.

Sorry asking.
But why doesn´t it come in the diagrams as available to the M2?

Also I read in the link... https://www.bimmerworld.com/BMW-Inte...MaAjTvEALw_wcB
"For automatic transmission BMWs. (Not for SMG/DCT sequential manual transmissions)"

Please confirm me.
I would like to order the correct set.
My M2 is a Competition from late 2019 (register 2020)

Thank you guys.

DCT cars don't use the double wide brake pedal. As the very first post states, if you have a DCT M2, you need the pedal set for manual cars and you just don't use the clutch pedal cover.

1. Remove OEM rubber covers
2. Put on SS pedal rubber covers.
3. Drill pilot holes into the pedals (brake pedal probably needs a nice Ti drill bit since it's steel). Take rubber cap off again.
4. Brake/clutch: Start with 1/8 and finish at 5/32 drill bit...you can add another intermediate size in between if you like.
5. File the backs of the holes to smooth things out.
6. Put on the rubber cover, then steel one, then tighten it with the provided torx hardware.
7. Go pedal: clean it up to prep for the 3M adhesive backing on the steel pedal.
8. Stick it on and drill 3/32 holes in the plastic.
9. Tighten the gas pedal bolts in (no nuts for this one). Don't over tighten this since it's plastic.
10. Vacuum and clean up.
Thanks for the detailed steps? So for point 9 gas pedal you dont have to take off any existing rubber or screw new SS gas pedal over it like the brake and clutch ones?

How do you distinguish which SS pedal is for clutch and brake? Can they fit either way?
