Easily removed exhaust tips

Replaced my chrome exhaust tips for powder coat glossy black.

Here is my **tip** for you:

A strap wrench makes this trivial- I have read about WD-40, gear pullers, and brute forcing these biyotches off. Forget those methods.

A simple strap wrench takes them off without damage and replacing all 4 took maybe 10 minutes with zero fight.

Where are you guys getting your tips from? Are these for the stock exhaust? In an earlier thread I saw someone install M4 Competition Package tips on the stock exhaust. Those run about 55 or so each online.

I took my OEM original chrome tips off and took them to a local powder coater who does excellent work (regular SEMA guy). He coated all four glossy black for 80 bucks with 4 day turn around- they look OEM. Im traveling, but will post pics soon.

don't forget : strap wrench

PLEASE tell them to learn how to connect the iCloud calendars to the Connected Drive. As is, it only displays calendar entries that are on the iPhone. Not the iCloud connected ones. I suspect anyone who has an iPhone and a Mac would be using the iCloud calendars.....if not most Otherwise the calendar function is worthless.

iCloud info is stored differently so it's really up to BMW if they want to make the effort

Can you expound on this? Are the stock tips just held on with friction and you use the strap wrench to twist them off?

Yes the tips have spring tensioners in them (4 in each tip) that have serrated teeth on each tensioner. Easy to push on by hand but very hard to pull off by hand. The strap wrench is used to grip the tip and twist off.

I couldn't budge mine by hand but had all four off in short order without a scratch using the strap wrench. Strap wrench was $14 at Home Depot.

Youtube has some good videos of how to use a strap wrench properly- I had not used one before and didn't find it intuitive to use (at first).

Once they were powder coated they just pushed on easily by hand. I will pull one off and take a pic to post.

Fabspeed Muffler Bypass

Will review on my thread.. PITA to install (mostly to centralize and align nicely, and was missing thescrews that tighten the tips to the exhaust.. Sent Fabspeed Motorsport a message, the shop improvised with some screws but they are a bit too long.

But regardless.. the sound...Videos don't do justice..

Yeah, I'm an M failure...don't know how to drive a manual so I went DCT.

Agree, love the mats!

Is it me or do the M Performance mats look like they came from a K-mart close out sale?

I was on the fence on ordering the mats as well, but they are really nice in person. Nice look and feel. Definitely recommend them. I have the sport all weather mats in my 335i and these m performance mats are much better looking with better feel. I think they look nicer than the original mats. Just need the car to put them in now!
