Probably because BMW AG prefer to sell M2 in the USA. Actually lots of car manufacturers prefer to sell their cars in the USA instead of Canada. Because of the weak canadian dollar it is way more profitable to sell in the USA. I guess that this is the real reason why we're waiting and we're waiting and still waiting...
In a Quebec TV magazine about cars I've heard about someone who ordered a Honda HR-V last October 2015 that was supposed to be delivered in January 2016 that is now scheduled to be delivered next July... So, even for a low cost car we canadians are waiting when americans don't. |

Anyway the only thing they can show us is a car on a PC screen... In USA lots of dealers will have at least one HEA M2 to show but here... nothing, only the usual BS...

I am sure there are a few M2s in the Montreal area already, just not exposed yet in dealerships. We should see more this week...

So I've placed my deposit in early March this year (3K non-refundable, biggest dealer in Vancouver). My SA said the car should be arrived around June/July. If not, he will give me a MY2017 model. He didn't give me the production number or anything that I can track down. Just a deposit receipt. He said he will give me a call 1 or 2 months prior to car production.
Similar story to you guys in Canada? I really want to get the car before July but I doubt it will happen... |

I've placed my order with a similar deposit in December 2015. I have a production number for my car since two months now and according to my SA the car will be built in August (for a October delivery). To have a June/July delivery your car should be built late April or beginning of May, so if you don't already have a production number and a production schedule I don't think you will get your car soon. If you don't have an Euro delivery or don't do the M tour I guess you should prepare yourself to do what the majority of Canadians M2 buyers do, which is wait wait and wait... |

All dealers across Canada know how many cars they are getting for 2016 (the year, not MY mind you) and should know the production weeks by now as well. If he is refusing to give you production number even though he has a car, I would call BS on it and ask for a screenshot showing production week. FYI, figures are hovering around only 80-200 cars for this year depending on who you ask. I have unconfirmed information of about 80 MY16's and another 50-80 MY17's but MY17 may increase as time goes on. PS: I had a production number over a month ago for an MY17, August build/September delivery, so no excuses from SAs of not knowing, unless they are lying and want you to buy a car they don't have. |

I think concrete info will be difficult to come by until more people start taking deliveries of their cars. I put a deposit down early December and was told I would be getting mine August/September which is a MY2017. I guess ill be patient for a few months to see how things are going.
P.S if you guys do a meet id love to see BSM too! |
