This is my auto buying decision for 2018. Hoping to see many more comparisons and tests of the TT RS. I'm not a track guy or really want a manual option. Sat inside a TTS recently and hard to deny how nicely done the interior is. That said I happen to like the more upright seating position of the M2. At least I have a while before having to choose.

I'd love to own both, but there's something about the TT's styling I prefer. Especially for the interior, there is absolutely no comparison to me. |

Wow this new generation TT looks fantastic! 2nd gen looked so girly but now they are back in the game.

Already warned the wife that the M2 insides might be a step down from my Audi. That virtual cockpit dash is way cool also! |

Before buying the M2, I have tried to sit in the back seat of a TTS. It is impossible for my head to stay straight (I am only 174cm!). This caused me to look around an find the M2.

If someone is not tracking a car, absolute performance is not as critical. There is no "blow out of the water." If numbers were key, we'd all be driving mustangs and Camaros

I get that it's fun being able to say "my car is faster than yours" but really. What do we love about our cars? It's the feeling you get when driving it. How you feel when looking at it. Thinking about it. I haven't driven the TT but I don't like the girly looks, the girly image, the fact that it's an Audi, the AWD, the general blandness of the thing... Just compare: M2: TT RS: |

Just waiting the Z5....
It will be somehow on par with TT's price, but totally different style than M2... more sporty and aggressive! Otherwise we compare apples and oranges... |

Too bad the RS is $20k more than the M2. I could use AWD here in upstate.

So I understand that your intention is to drive the M2 form the back seat, then it makes sense

Also, it will be more expensive by 10-13k, not 20k. Let's not forget the TT RS does 0-60 in 3.2 (normally 3.5, conservative official 3.7). The M2 wins (probably) on the fun factor but I am leaning towards the Audi (its the only Audi that interests me), because I will probably be sharing it with my wife. |
