Thoughts on a M2 convertible.....
So I've been thinking........ that for me, I would jump on the opportunity to have this car as a vert. Anyone else feel that way?
I read months ago that bmw said they have NO plans on offering up this car as a convertible b/c it goes against the spirit of what the M2 was meant to be: a track dedicated car. And yet, I'm willing to bet 90% of M2 owners won't ever track their cars. So......why not offer up such a fun, nimble car as a convertible to lure away boxter owners? If I knew this car would be offered up as a convertible --either hard top or soft-- I would hold out for it........regardless of whether it kept the N55 or not. In the meantime, I remain torn between a camaro 1ss/lle and the M2. |

I think a convertible would be nice although I doubt I would pay the premium for it. I would, however, pay for the sun roof if it were offered in the US.

I really see no point for a M2 Vert
You can simply get a M240i Vert for similar performance without all those track day goodies. Pricier, heavier, less performance, worse aerodynamics........ You know what just get a m240i vert. |

So based on that logic, why did BMW ever make a M3/M4 vert, let alone a M6 vert....?

If you take almost any performance car and slice off the roof, people will buy it Btw I would not buy an M2 vert, but not everyone is me. Last edited by IS+1; 10-01-2016 at 09:54 PM.. |

If you are not tracking the car, then you are basically buying the M2 for it's body kit compared to a 240i convertible. For the 8k premium between the M2 and 240i, you can buy a lot of cosmetic parts to make it even more aggressive than an M2.
