The ///M style mirror however.... I really hope they came through with that.
I think it's legit.

Look at the tow hook cover. The body crease runs into it compared to before. A distorted camera won't change that.
Valid point...

It isn't photshopped and the picture wasn't taken with a cheap camera.Gatte posted the original image and the reason it looks strange is because he has a video of the whole car and only wants to show a little bit of the front end design. He took a picture of the front end of the car from the video and cropped it,so he wouldn't reveal the whole front end design of the car.

Based on the design details that are shown in the picture,i definitely prefer the current M2 kidney grill and front bumper design.

It's been repeatedly lapping the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 2017 wearing a 'mask' hiding the reworked front end (though still with the M235i side mirrors) + distinctive S55 engine sound.

See several videos in the dedicated thread here ("BMW M2 and M2 CS test mule videos (compilation)").

See also for example this post of last September, where I assumed that also park distance control was hiding behind the 'mask' (USA-spec VIN sheets would subsequently confirm my assumption).

To my eyes, this whole chunky plastic camouflage construction is just a mask bolted on the front end to hide a splitter / front lip (and maybe also front PDC).

Otherwise said: by bolting-on that mask, the splitter is less obvious.

There are a couple more changes, if you look closer.

See the small list in the first post of this thread.

Yes, I saw that. I was able to identify everything except for the following due to the image being not complete:

"4, The side slits are also all shiny black.
6, There are 3 slits at the bottom of the bumper.
7, Front grille does not distinctly separate into 2 kidneys.
8, There will be sport seats."

Can't wait to see the whole car!

Wouldn't it be cool if BMW put half as much effort into improving the road feel of their EPS?

I know right?! we've already seen 100% of the car.
We are seeing some changes that may represent 10-15% of the exterior changing.. and yet people " cant wait to see the whole thing "

one thing it is not ... is an entirely new car. LOL

are you trying to say BMW isn't/hasn't already been doing so?

My sales rep is saying the comp pkg is going to be an $18k CAD option. He got this info from the people at BMW Canada.

Lol who said it was an entirely new car? Yes there may be only 10-15% exterior changes but it makes a huge difference. Look at the 2015 F80 vs 2018 F80? The difference is significantly noticeable. However, all that being said, my excitement is not only about the cosmetic changes. The biggest difference is under hood and that's what I was waiting for. With interior, exterior, and the engine changes this car is in fact a whole different car than what we saw in early 2016. So I don't see that much funny stuff here but I'm glad my post gave you a good laugh

I cannot believe that more people are not excited or commenting about the hockenheim silver. I thought that was a big deal.

We need a higher quality pic to comment on the color I initially thought the car was white and had silver mirrors on it kinda like the M235i until you mentioned the mirror and the body were the same color lol.
