Trunk BMW Roundel fell off

WTF.

picked up my plates at the dealer. they installed the rear plate. drove to lunch. drove to Auto Zone. drove home. 5 miles total.

Pulled in the garage and noticed it.

WTF. Will they replace that under warranty you think?

Hope this isn't a sign. Might have to put it up for sale.

sucks. not exactly confidence inspiring....

i had a situation a couple years ago when i bought my 135is. The whole thing went up into a pile of smoke after 40 miles. Apparently they had no attached a hose clamp correctly and all my fluid just fell out. My confidence in the car was shattered....however it ran fine for 9 months until i traded it in for the 1M. Hopefully your badge not being installed right is just a small oversight!

Yes. You should definitely sell it. It's worthless now.

Seriously though, I would bring it back. Hopefully it's nothing more than a freak mishap.

Mine fell off last weekend! I went to put somerhing in the trunk and noticed it was hanging very, very loose, so I pulled it off.

Dealer replaced it, no problem.

when I looked closer at it. it didn't seem to have any glue residue. however there were 2 clear, kinda grommets that were half torn.

Perhaps someone was trying to remove excess weight for you.

I had that happen twice on my 540 at the local supermarket believe it or not. The first time I've notice it when made it home and the roundel didn't look right as one side was higher than the other. The second time I caught the guy trying to remove it off and when i start yelling at him he took off running. Thankfully no damage to the BSM paint just the aggravation...

So maybe your roundels are not just falling off on their own or perhaps you all speeding so fast...

Mine fell off the first day also, no adhesive on it at all, only one grommet holding it on.
Replaced by the dealer next day and is now stuck on.
