M Performance alcantara wheel

Has anyone installed the alcantara steering wheel?
Is it worth it?
I just find the leather one to be a bit spongy....

I will be once I get my car. The leather one feels like plastic to me.

I went with this one, full alcantara. It's cheaper than the new V2 and has no exposed leather #racecar

Ok. That looks even better! Couldn't see that as an M2 option on BMW website but will use the part number from the link

That's correct. Steering wheel ain't wired for heating. But if you fit the original steering wheel again, that function is operational again, of course. Nevertheless, the alcantara always feels naturally cosy. Not as cold as the leather in colder circumstances.

But you keep the 'Lane Departure Warning' buzzing/vibration (engine is transferred to the MP steering wheel).

Anyone know the diameter of these wheels? I'd like something smaller than stock.

I guess I'm the only sucker going with the one with the race display? I figured it's worth it since the car doesn't have an oil temp gauge.

How closely would you say the 12:00 stripe matches the blue stitching in the car?

The M2 stitching color is called "Polar Blue".

The 12h blue color mark of the M Performance is more similar to it than the blue color of the M2 brake calipers (darker).

So yeah, though not identical, it blends.

I got the alcantara one that has the race display and the F1 style LED shift lights and I love it.

Best part? It solves the problem of the M2 not having an oil temp gauge. (One screen shows both water and oil temps)
