From my experience on test drives the M2 is no firmer than the G7R in its race damper setting. Which I drive in everyday during the winter. And more composed over rough surfaces than my Scirocco R which I have done many miles in also. Its a similar size to both and ive never had any problems.

I live in the UK too so the roads are worse.

My M2 is a DD and I don't have no other choice. I live in NY so I will be purchasing a winter setup. As far as M cars a lot of my friends DD their Ms.

I just collected my 2017 M2 and drove 1600 miles across the U.S. from Oklahoma to California, on all types of roads. For those of you who are concerned about the ride being jarring or rough, I think you should rest easy. This car is not harsh. It's well-insulated from wind and (real) engine noise, and can absorb bumps beautifully. Compared to a 2015 VW GTI, which I've driven extensively, I'd say the M2 is slightly firmer, but somehow handles the harsher bumps with more composure. I had been concerned about this aspect of the M2, and bought mine without having the benefit of test drive. But it turns out I was worried for no reason.

Thanks for your review. I've also had an MK7 GTI, so now I'm better prepared for what to expect.

This guy can't drive. He pulls away wheels spinning and does nothing to correct, dct kicks in to correct his right foot problem. Also, the bmw is about 70kg heavier so I wasn't surprised.

But yeah, m2 is an ace DD and I think they both have numb steering but the m2 wind as the chassis provides good feedback
