Garage List
I contacted the seller about it not fitting 100%, the reply was, to remove the bumper completely and use screws to lock the tabs into place (for 100% fitment - eliminate the small gaps). I'll just leave it as is, as I don't want to remove the entire bumper.

Same here, plus on darker colours i reckon it would be even less noticable.

Because they don't use the same manufacturing technique as OEM which is why they're a 1/3 of the price?

Even the Vorsteiner bumper I bought for my E46 M3 never fit 100% no matter what I tried.

Age old adage: You get what you pay for..

With today's tech you'd think the aftermarket copycats would simply buy the OE part and copy it to the mm.

Also the BMW Perf diffuser is probably 100% CF, where as most others are FG shell with gel weave on top.
They probably do, but they would need to invest so much time and money to get it right and then they would realise they need to sell it at the price of the OEM one to make any money.

That being said - it looks good danielt's car and I am not knocking his choice for going for the copy.

I've had replica parts on cars before so I am not one to have double standards.

This. I'm going OEM on interior and most exterior performance parts.

Spoiler and diffuser though are the only two I'm looking to save a few dollars. Simply because there's a lot of dollars to be saved.

Yeh I went an ebay diffuser on my M3 and it still looks fine to this day. I feel like it's really luck of the draw. You may get a piece that fits damn near perfectly, or has a lot of gaps.

Has anyone heard anything about the MY16 subframe bolt recall? Not sure if I want to raise it with my dealer now.

Nothing as yet, mine was in at the dealership yesterday and they didn't say anything. They did however replace some bolts when it had it's run in service a month back but i think it was relating to this: http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1269385

Thanks Prodigy, you'll no doubt see it around, there aren't many of us in Perth. I've only seen one that parks on my street quite often USF168...

We should start a Perth thread...

Just a quick post to say hi. Picked up my AW 6MT 2 weeks ago and it's been awesome! Ordered in February so it's been one helluva wait. Hoping to meet with some of you Melbourne folk at the next BMW or M club meet.

Thanks for the update. I was at the dealer yesterday and was told the ship was still due in on October 28 and that delivery would be possibly two weeks away. Now might even pick up the car at the end of next week unless they wish to keep it on display. Like most of us it has been a very long wait.

Plates arrived. I don't know if it shows on camera, but grey on black looks very different to white on black.
