M2 on U-Haul Trailer Tongue Weight?

Does anyone know offhand what the tongue/hitch weight is on an M2 loaded onto a U-Haul trailer? I'm trailering my M2 to a trackday next month behind an RV and planned on renting a U-Haul trailer. The RV is rated for up to 8000lbs towing, but I believe the hitch weight is only 500lbs. I want to make sure I'm not blowing this number out when hooking it up. Anyone have any idea?

Thanks.

From experience with them, it will be a lot. The trailers are already front heavy for safe towing. You might have to back it onto the trailer due to the low front bumper.

I planned on putting some 2x8s on the front to raise the front tires up a bit. I'm pretty low though, on KW V3's and have a front lip. I may try to source another trailer.

Thanks for the info

The approach angle isn't bad at all, it is these when you are trying to strap down the front wheels.

If you can, source a normal car trailer.

This was when i picked up a Speed3 project many years ago, look at how much of the car is past the wheels:

Can you back the car onto the trailer? Being a front-engine car, it would move the weight to the rear of the trailer.

Edit: Nvm. M2 doesn't have the big of a f/r weight distribution difference. Might not change anything.

Definitely do not back the car on the trailer. It will make the trailer tail happy and quite dangerous.

And...

Did you happen to get a tongue weight with the M2 loaded? Looks like your hitch was good for up to 750lbs. Mine is only 500.

Ya, I wouldn't load it backwards, I know better than that.

Sorry, I did not, but IIRC, when you reserve the trailer on the U-Haul website, it will ask for details on the tow vehicle, hitch rating and about the vehicle being trailered. I believe they calculate what they need and tell you if you have a working combination. The website won't allow the reservation to proceed if, for example, the tow vehicle is not enough to pull the trailer/car. It's been a few months since I reserved mine but I think it also checks out your hitch rating.

Just to be clear, I was asking if loading it backwards was a good idea, not suggesting it. I don't know anything about towing, just had an idea.

I supposed the areodynamics of a backwards car aren't the best.

Yeah, it kinda does that, but it doesn't ask for any specs if you select that you're towing with an RV, which has me worried.

I'd be more concerned about the weight distribution. I think the center of gravity needs to go between the trailer wheels and the hitch.
