Did the math on this...for everything listed at CAD $17,250 represents a 32% discount to simply quoting the parts separately. Separately optioned this bundle would come to CAD $25,500. I'm sure you could get a discount on that, just not sure it would be as high as 32%. That said there are some items in there I personally wouldn't pay for like the winglets and the mirror covers. BTW - BMW quoted me CAD $6,981.20 on the wheel package alone...and another CAD $5,095 for the MPS...pretty pricey!! KW V3 is what? USD $2100? or about CAD $2,650?

Ouch that's mean.....I'm heading up there next week and can't carry up there....is Rape that much of a problem? LOL, we go up fairly often to visit family, never saw any rape issues on the open road. Just don't bring a radar detector or the cops will rape your wallet.

I think he means raped as in purchasing anything that requires money here in Canada... Everything is mad expensive here and getting higher every day...And our dollar value is ridiculously low

Have you been to Europe lately? Yes we do get screwed relative to the US in some ways but ask the Brits and Aussies how it's going. This package is pricey but a good value for those that want those items. I appreciate how BMW Canada offers us easy and simplified packages and as in this case unique ones. When I got my M2 the only options were DCT, Sunroof, Apple Carplay, MPE and carbon bits. Easy peasy.

We plan on enjoying our rate exchange the way it was in the old days when we were first dating. We saved money for our wedding in a Canadian bank and the exchange was something around 60 cents US to 1 dollar Canadian, we got a nice discount on our wedding costs LOL. Our hotel will be cheaper.

As an Aussie, I'll second that comment. I was recently watching a review of the M2 done by a Canadian guy, and he was explaining how the M2 starts out at CAD$61k. The M2 starts here at AUD$90,500 ... and the exchange rate between the CAD & AUD is practically 1:1 (right now, CAD$1.00 = AUD$0.99).

In other words, we Aussies pay almost precisely 50% more than our Canadian friends. No doubt government tariffs and taxes play their part, but that is a staggering premium

And we are still queueing up for what is a fantastic car

one must also compare income tax rates as well as VAT/sales tax to get a better picture of total cost. $100K doesn't seem so bad when not giving half your wages to the CRA.
In any event, who cares. The statement was tongue-in-cheek meant for fellow Canadians, not to spark debate.

Top tax rate in CA is 53.5%, in AU 49% ... 13% VAT in CA vs. 10% GST in AU ... but we also get the privilege of an Import Tax on cars, and a Luxury Car tax that hits the M2, which I mentioned in my remarks. But how does this account for 50% more..? (hint: it doesn't)

The one time I don't feel like I'm getting jacked by US/CA taxes...only when in comparison to the Canucks and Aussies...

9% tax rate on new car in LA/CA = Rape
