20" wheels on an M2

I saw an M2 on here with 20" M Star Spoke 666m wheels and it looked awesome. But there's probably a good reason why BWM put 19" wheels on the car so...

What, if any, would be the downside of putting 20" wheels on an M2?
Has anyone done it who can tell me?
Would it affect the way the car drives?
Is is a simply a matter of replacing the wheels or would I have to made other mods?

I'm running HRE FF04's in 20x9.5/20x11. I guess I can tell a slight handling change in the car. But I guess that is more due to tire sidewall. I went with the new 4s tire so that probably makes up for some of it. My thing was the 20 looked awesome on there when at first I thought it wouldn't and the wide tires (I'm running a 295 out back) look so good. I'll slap on 18s with a proper tire when I wanna track it.

I didn't do more than 50 miles on the 19s but nearly 8000 miles in on the 20s and loving it.

And it's as simple as fitting new wheels and tyres? If I wanted to put these on it would be easy?

You need to check the offsets in case spacers are needed, but I would expect these just to be a straight bolt on job.
Strangely I actually think these suit the M2 better than the M4

In addition to the OP questions, I think it's worth mentioning if people who have this setup, specifically the 666 style, if there are issues with rubbing and if you have your car lowered at all (specific setup as well).

I'm also thinking about this... how does it effect the handling?

They fit just fine. They will make the car slower, turn worse and have less comfort though...

Idk about less comfort. I had the Contis on my stock 19 wheels and after switching to the 20s with the Michelin 4s tire my ride is quieter and actually softer. Handling though yeah some very slight noticeable difference but really on the street it's hard to push the car to that limit anyways.

I found this on Jolabero's thread

It will be just fine, but still worse. Some people don't mind but even my light 20" HRE wheels I had on my previous car made it feel quite a bit worse compared to 19" wheels. It just feels "heavier" and not as nimble.

Most people won't mind though, hey they even put heavy cast wheels on their M2s and are happy.

What tyre specs are you running in front? 245/255? Any issues with stretch?
