It's not worded correctly, I had read in a previous interview that the reason they aren't on the M2 is because they do not fit on the 2 series platform.
Yeah that sounds more realistic, kinda surprised this made front page, looks like a guy soiled a few ramblings when questioned and its gospel.

How's the countdown for delivery going!?

Again to ask, how the heck is this front page, it's just adding FUD to the M2 launch.

He was referring to newly designed bespoke mirrors, not adding the same ones onto the M2. Doesn't matter if the 'basic' dbesign already exists. It would require the development of new tooling equipment and procedures. Not really saying this would have a MASSIVE impact, never quantified how large the impact would be. I was just saying it could make for MARGINAL differences. Not quite sure why you're laughing, you must be assuming that I was saying it would cause a price jump more than a pocket change. Also, um... I'm agreeing with you? I'm saying it is cost cutting as the reason why new ones aren't being developed. So, um, yeah? Agree to agree? Don't have to act like I'm an imbecile when clearly there is a huge difference in interpretation vs. intention.

I love how future m2 owners are in denial that the fact that the M2 didnt get mirrors is due to the fact that bmw just cheaped out

Stop it with these excuses ppl

M2 will be the first M car that I will won't, and I didn't pay to much attention about M button and mirrors probably because I have owned non-m model in the past.

Probably, most of the current M and ex-M owners are just little bit too spoiled and I can't blame them.

It has absolutely nothing to do with that, your logic is just incoherent. I understand people don't like the car, and I don't care, but if you're going to make statements that the car simply 'isn't special' and that's why it's a failure, back it up and tell me why you didn't like your experience behind the wheel.
For someone that doesn't care about what 'others' think of the M2, you're sure quick to debate anyone who doesn't view it as a godsend.

Poster (whynommirrors): OMG BRO DAWG, those mirror suck! Ah, those seats are lame - my life is over.

That's not nice. Adem already has a LBB M2 at 3/4 profile tattoo. Of course he's going to defend it.

1. M Performance accessories will be available right away from the launch of the car.

2. Why no M mirrors? He was told that since the M2's body is so different from the standard 2 Series, BMW decided to not give it special M mirrors.

3. The M buttons and customization like we know it from other M GmbH vehicles is not present in the M2. Instead, it is pre-set and you select various driving modes via the standard F-gen button near the shifter. Eco to Sport Plus, and Sport Plus is MDM. It also gives you the fastest DCT shifts.

4. Instrument cluster has orange illumination.

5. The car really sounds different to the M235i and a product manager told him that the M2 Performance exhaust will take it to another level.

I would be very interessted to now what mode the Car gods info If you shut of all the stability/tractiob systems. some of the BMW godes then back to Comfort mode. Does that happend on the M2.

BTW: not sure If that has been made clear here. The M Performace exhoust will come with a Bluetooth Controlled flap for more sound...

If you don't want the bling, you get better bang for your buck than previous generations. Your choice.

Ermahgerd! I needz moar spoilers! Moar loud! Mirrors mirrors mirrors.

I agree with you, people are missing the point of this car. I couldn't care less about the mirrors or the lack of CF bits or if the car is as loud as my old 408 powered Mustang.

I'm over all that stuff. And don't get me started on this new camber fad bullshit. Fuck my life.
What he said 100%.

What kind of answer is that? The M3 and M4's bodies are vastly different from the F30 and F32, but they got special M mirrors. Why can't they just come out and say that they counted the beans, and didn't want to spend as many?

I think someone else mentioned "BMW cheaped out" ... which makes sense. how hard/expensive could it be though? I wonder if it is to entice people to step "up" into an M3/m4? if so, that's even more messed up than being cheap with R&D.

who is the guy who made this decision to keep the pedestrian mirrors? let's ask him.

The more I see the whining over the littlest things, the more I'm losing my faith in humanity.

While y'all are arm-chair war fighting about ///M mirrors, I'll be out in the mountains wearing my tires out with a smile on my face.
