So BMW recommends on his M2 winterset this tire size.

Here's a recent (late 2015) test for performance car winter tires by German car magazine SportAuto: http://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/n...-10006005.html (german)

They tested 235/35/R19 tires with a "W" (270kph) speed rating. Keep in mind that this is not exactly the M2's size (235/40/R18), so the results are not directly applicable, but should at least give a general indication.

In this test, the top three are the usual suspects:
1. Continental WinterContact TS 850 P
2. Michelin Pilot Alpin 4
3. Pirelli Winter Sottozero 3

I'd love to see an up-to-date test of the M2's exact tire size, ideally on a RWD car. So if anyone finds one, please share a link.

I have an offset - set of snows from my e92 M3. I am hoping I can use them on the M2. I may have to update the TMPS however.

Hi, would anyone know the weight of a 640M ? If you have one available it would be nice to weigh it for me ;-)
(NB - even with the tire, as long as you tell the exact tire info).
Key question: lighter or heavier than the 19" OEM...
Thanks :-)
