If you do some digging you'll find that most consider the OG seats to be more comfortable, and the Comp seats (and seat belts) to be more aesthetically pleasing (as well as being "more" M3/M4). I wanted to like the Comp seats, but every time I've sat in them I've found the OG seat to be more comfortable, and although the Comp seat is better looking that the OG seat, it's ugly as hell compared to the Recaro I can have for the same money. Good thing they were FREE with the Comp!

I'm also in the camp of preferring the OG N55's grunt to the Comp's S55 wail. 0-100 sees the cars side by side, but the feeling of driving each is quite different. They remind me a bit of the old STi vs EVO debate. The STi always had more grunt, it was like a motor with a small turbo attached, whereas the EVO was like a turbo with a small motor attached. It's true that a modded S55 car will leave me for dead at over 100 mph, but I rarely even see one of those cars, and I'm even more rarely over 100 mph, and positively rarely racing anyone over 100 mph.

For me the more refined feeling (don't ask me to explain it) of the Comp was nice, and the seat belts were great, but they weren't enough to make me choose it over the OG (knowing I'd be replacing the anthracite 2NH with red anyway).

I think it's awesome that we can all drive the same cars and come away with different feelings. It's what makes us individual. I give tire advice to people on a daily basis, and it's always a wonder to me why everyone asks me what the "best" tire is, when [...]

the comp seats suck, they look good but they are uncomfortable to me (some love them though), no adjustable headrest and the bolstering leaves a lot to be desired. The light up logo is a nice touch though.

OG seats have the tight support which is nice, adjustable headrest but look like the same seats that would be on a 230.

Personally don't like either and why I can't wait to put some cobra nogaros in there.

With regards to sound, CarSpotterCVS has literally hundreds of videos on YouTube of BMW's leaving meets where you can directly compare the sounds of each engine, modified and stock (stock being harder to find, but they are there).

This clip, starting at 11:06 is perfect. It's an S55 Comp then an N55 OG, back to back. Both cars have modified exhausts, but what I've found is that regardless of which exhaust mods you choose, they both remain largely their original sound, just amplified or made deeper or what have you.

The S55 car has a sort of nasally/bright/sharp sound to it as the revs rise, while the N55 car has more of a deeper growl in place of that sound.

I didn't watch the entire video, but it was nice to see / hear such a variety of BMWs. There were a couple of E36 M3s in the early part of the video that sounded fabulous. I also really liked the V10s. There were several M2Cs and they didn't sound the same. I think exhaust mods make more difference than you're giving credit for. Regarding the two cars that you referenced, I think the OG sounded better, but as many have already said, sound isn't everything.

It's true that the right exhaust mods can make the S55 better (not just louder) than stock, but no matter what you do to it (other than ditching one of the turbos), it still doesn't sound nearly as good as an N55 (to most ears). That bright, buzzy vacuum sound never really goes away, it's just covered with more volume, a different tone, and exponentially more artifacts. To some, though, that's enough. To others, they don't care at all, it's all about the performance.

I’d take an OG M2 over a GT4 any day of the week. I’d have that silver colour and a manual thanks. I think OG works better with a manual and the C/CS better as a DCT. I’d be too embarrassed to be seen in a modern Porsche other than on a track where the GT4 actually makes some sense.

I never really considered it a snort…

What intake are you running?

And what exhaust are you running?

I like that noise, but I think the MPE changes the sound of it compared to other N55 exhausts. Like a normal burble but there's some resonance happening.

Hmm. I drive mine all year round except when there is snow on the ground (a few days a year). Drove it today to the grocery store.
