Not sure what is going on here. I have a nicely modifies M2 M Performance model that still looks brand new. Why do people rate this M2 below a 9?

It has over 12,000 views. Who knows how many have rated it.

I also notice some other OG M2s seem drastically under rated.

Anyone have a guess what is going on?

You click on the garage list and it takes you to pictures(if the member posted them) and option and modifications on the car. There are ten stars showing near the top of the page. You can click on 1 thru 10 stars to rate the car.

And I am old also.

P.S. When you rate a car you get 0.5 reputation points and the car owner gets 10 reputation points.

With no disrespect but probably because the pictures are pretty bad. Location, quality of the pictures, lighting, ect.. I bet if you got some nice pictures it would probably be higher, that said 8/10 is not bad.

Didn’t know this was a photo contest.

My M2 is one of 384 AW DCT imported in 2018 model year. As an M Performance model upgraded by the port, it is even rarer. That is what should matter given that it is in excellent condition.

If I had to be honest, for me it isn’t that ‘special’. I know it’s a rare model but most people won’t know that. Also, M Performance is just ‘off-the-shelf’. For me, a high-scorer would be when someone has gone to town in making it their own and made something truely unique and interesting to look at/figure out what they’ve done. Not trying to be harsh, just being up front. Same reason I wouldn’t consider my car anything above a 6-7/10.

I have owned a lot of BMWs. And I can tell you any F87 is special.

Also I wouldn’t rate any M car below a 9.

I would certainly rate a white DCT "M Performance" model below a 9.

And almost any G80/G82 with the beaver grille would get voted much lower.

And, for what it’s worth, I agree with the dude who mentioned the quality of the pics being a factor in getting higher ratings. Your pics do not do your car justice and do not show the kind of pride/passion that you write about. 3/10.

When you consider how rare an M car is compared to all the other cars and SUVs BMW sells, they all deserve a high rating. I am not a fan of the G series Ms but they are much better than the G series non Ms.

my man, its just a white m2 with some off the shelf parts. Its cool for sure but its not something really rare like a CS that you can't get certain things like carbon roof, ect. Personally I would not give it more points cuz its an mperf edition. You never know maybe ppl that voted don't like white cars

Also its not a photo contest but a good photo goes a long way in showing the car. Easily can make a 8/10 car look 9/10

I give up. But you can say any of the four colors are just that color. LBB was by far the most popular so should they get rated lower because there are more of them? You also forgot that 2018s are LCI cars and are different that the 2016-17 M2s. But so be it.

I rate pre-lci higher because of:

- better looking rear lights
- old school style Cluster
- better looking dashboard

I rate LCI higher myself and would not rate LBB lower because yes there are more of them but imo its a fantastic color. How many white cars are there in the world? a bazillion, how many LBB? not that many so I think that is flawed logic, I think LBB is a more special color than white and hey I have a black M2c, another not special color that anyone is more than welcome to rate 8 or under

35% of new cars are white. Probably about 500 million white cars in the world (out of 1.5 billion total). I would round it up to a bazillion.
