Uh, you do know that apparently there is a hardcore version coming and it will possibly look like the less extreme version of the GT6 Vision.

There's a good chance you'll only get #5 and 6, so you might want to look elsewhere

I do hope that that's true... just imagine a new version of the 2004 M3 CSL, with a new powerful turbo engine, well balanced chassis, and a 2700-ish pounds weight... HELL YEAH !!!

So what's the latest rumor on the engine ? Will it be single-turbo or twin-turbo ? It would be disappointing to be based on N55 when the B58 is now the new engine platform. I would hope for a B58 derivative modified for twin-turbo, like the Alpina did for their B3.

I also agree that I'd rather get a true and tested engine in the M2 personally. I started writing a reply but decided not to haha. I find it hilarious when people come up with the most outrageous number they could think of.

Hmm...I don't believe so. The headlight doesn't look quite right.
Edit: Oops...was beaten to the point.

Not really, aside from a few four cylinder ones. My M Coupe was 3,131 pounds and last I checked, it would pretty well fit in the trunk of an F8x.

Kind sir your are right.. my mistake.. the 2004 M3 CSL had a weight of 3050 pouds... so you may be right there.. all tough the priciple stands... if back then they could have built a car that powerful and that light.. i see no reason whey the cannot do that now... using the new carbon fiber structure that they are so eager to advertise... ( and no.. i am not high ... but thanks for your concern )

But that's "only" 200 pounds lighter than the E46 M3. So why would a modern CSL be 700-800 pounds lighter than the F8x? Hope for 3,200, expect more.
Bear in mind that the US Alfa 4C is almost 2,500 pounds and it's all carbon. BMW could probably make an E89 Z4 that light with lots of carbon, but it's a significantly smaller and less powerful car than the M3/4. |

It's really got nothing to do with what CF technology they have currently.

But you are correct in one aspect, i don't think that at the price point that the M2 will have, they would be interested in developing a more expensive, lighter version of it, no matter how much interest it might generate. Last edited by Demon23; 07-07-2015 at 09:53 AM.. Reason: - |
