Retrofit M2 CS upgraded brakes
I’m wondering whether we can order the M2 CS big brakes and retrofit onto our M2.
It should be a like for like replacement right?

Not sure about the F -> R calliper swap but rear discs/rotors are totally different to fronts. Rear disc bells incorporate a drum and shoe arrangement for the parking/hand brake.

For those of us who want to run 18" wheels [winter and track] its a no-no tho which is a shame. AFAIK, the only OE 6p/4p retrofit that is 18" wheel compatible is from Racing Brake 374/370 kit http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1247681

assuming the m2c 6/4 brake option uses the same front calipers as the m3/m4 ccb's, this kit will allow the optional front 6-piston m2c brake caliper to accommodate the non-upgraded rotors and the adapter bracket will change the position of the 6 piston front caliper to allow for fitment of 18" wheels? or are the RB rotors required as well? |

I'm too concerned with rocks getting caught between the caliper and wheel from the bigger brakes. Especially cause in winter here, the city covers our roads with gravel. I've seen a bunch of threads on the m3/m4 section of people's wheels getting destroyed and BMW won't replace them unless you have the wheel protection package. Otherwise, I would LOVE to have the CCB's. But brake ducting seems to do quite a good job for the stock brakes.

Buy gold M4 CCB Calipers and M2C big brake kit discs and they are a direct bolt on to a M2 and M2C.
One I prepared earlier.... |

Interesting bit of detective work.
Cotswold recently quoted £3421.26 for the official retrofit kit shown here: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=03_5003 |

All parts brand new directly from BMW. Ot costs slightly more than the retrofit kit but not much. Gold calipers have titanium pistons too. This upgrade was planned for my old LCI M2 but I ended up doing it on my M2C as you can see. I used BMW F10 M5 Ferrodo DS2500 pads for the front and R35 GTR (same pad shape) Ferrodo DS2500 pads for the rear. |

Before adding the M2C brake kit I would go with a set of AP Racing Brakes. I bet they will cost less and perform better.

Is that with rotors and pads? Just seems too affordable.

If you're going to spend $4,000+ on OEM brake parts, you should seriously consider one of our Essex Designed AP Racing Brake Kits instead. Many people think they need to swap out all four corners, but we have lots of customers who run our front-only system. From a performance standpoint, you'd be far better off with our front kit mated to your standard M2 rear brakes vs. going all four corners with the N2H setup. You'd have far less unsprung weight, more fade resistance, more pad choice, be able to run 18" wheels (which are lighter and have less expensive 18" tires). Our Radi-CAL systems have the OEM setup beat on every performance measure. Here's a recent M2 owner's review after spending some time with our system. He even says, "These completely outperform BMW M brakes in every single way. They consistently wow instructors at the track who have been in all kinds of cars and supercars.": https://www.essexparts.com/news-blog...ving-technique
Videos about our product features: https://www.essexparts.com/essex-des...ion-brake-kits You can see lots of customer reviews on our blog, including many from M2, M3, M4 owners. Here's a blog post with pics and weight comparisons: https://www.essexparts.com/news-blog...m2-competition More owner reviews: https://www.essexparts.com/news-blog Front disc weight comparisons between the OEM N2H kit and our front 372mm disc systems: Gigantic fixed caliper bridge that requires removal of caliper to change padds: Our 9668 caliper doesn't even require tools to change pads...you just squeeze the spring clip!
