Speed Cloth

Does BMW ever offer all cloth seats on their cars? From a practical standpoint they are just so much better. Don't get as hot / cold in extreme temperatures, don't get worn, easier to maintain, grippier in the corners. Need I go on?

I'd love the speed cloth seats if they didn't have the leather bolsters / surround. Ever seen one of these that is 5+ years old? Nothing like worn leather next to cloth. Looks really awful in my opinion. Here's hoping BMW breaks with tradition on the M2!

I'd be curious to know how many people get the cloth/leather combo on the M3.

I'm with you. Never been a fan of leather. One reason I bought a GTI.

You must not have children! Children destroy cloth interior!

I have two Children, Cloth/Alcantara and no problems. I don't let them eat in the car and all good. I had a leather e46 and one of them spilled milk on leather and it never came out all the way???

GTI seats are the best! My wife has the silly plaid cloth...the look dorky but are soooooo snug and comfortable. Their leather is not very good though but then again the 1 series leather was harder than leatherette.

I'd have to disagree here too. I find just about everything can be pulled out of the cloth assuming you get to it quickly and the kids aren't eating something terribly messy. In fact, what's bumming me out right now on the leather are the creases from the car seats, even with a seat protector!

I would prefer cloth over leather, especially if it is cheaper

Agree that leather/cloth combo is not the best. I had this combo on my Mini and the side bolsters started to show wear really soon as compared to the rest of the seat.

However, I have learned since then that leather requires upkeep, I am treating with conditioner the side bolsters on my 18-way seats in the Macan on a monthly basis. So far they look like the day I took delivery, 6,000 miles later.

My children sure kept the seats in our old cars a mess. Constantly having to take resolve to them. I have had easier time with leather. Having said that I agree that leathers have their own issues. In order to wear better the leather has to be coated, like Dakota leather, which in turn looks like cheap vinyl in my opinion. Nicer looking leather does no wear as well and requires more care and usually does not stay nice looking for long.
