The pictures are here! Enjoy!
Everything stock, 265/35/18 Re71r, fitment is great, look is aggressive and pretty acceptable wheel gap for an 18" smaller diameter tire. Just as I expected so far. Next week they are put to the true test on the track. Impressed, thanks Keith for putting these together! Last edited by MINI135i; 11-18-2016 at 07:12 PM.. |

Thanks for posting pics. I didn't have the heart to take mine out of storage.

You'll need to adjust the camber, but yes.

No, the traction control is just fine with the square set up. No discernible issues. What I do notice is tons more grip from these 265 re71r's! Can't wait to track them! |

So took her out for a couple of sessions on Friday,"DSC off" as my normal track setting, and all I can say is "wow!". No contest compared to stock wheels/tires. Stock set up pales in comparison. The grip is tremendous, front end bite is tremendous with the new set up!
Like any past BMW I have driven, the square set up on the track is the bomb. For comparison, those who have owned an E92 M3, remember when you went from stock wheels and tires to an 18x10 Rs-3, Nt01, etc., set up? Remember the drastic change in grip and the transformation of the car? Well, same deal here with the M2 and the 18x9.5/Re71R set up! Transformative! Any seasoned veteran knows that the grippier tires alone probably account for 70% of the difference, but the wider wheel/tire up front just completes the final 30% for a very grippy and balanced car. And, yes, the balance of the car is just fine, just as with every BMW in the past that has run a sticky square set up. Understeer or oversteer were not inherent problems. Don't hesitate on this one, you won't be disappointed. Oh, yeah, you can rotate them too, what a plus. |

I am impressed with the Re71r's on the track. They handled the 20 minute sessions well. Grip was good throughout the sessions, although it was only about 65-70 degrees that day, so not really hot outside. Could they be pushed to be greasy? Yeah, I have yet to find a street tire that I can't push into the greasy stage if I over do the driving or if it is really hot outside, but this tire seems pretty resilient. Initially when it came out I thought it would be an autocross tire only, but many seem to be proving that untrue and tracking it with much success.
They remind me of the Hankook R-s3's in their character, but clearly are softer and grippier, so they will wear out even faster. This is my first set, so I am still new to them, but all reports I have read say they wear faster, so I am just mentally ready for that and the increased grip is worth it! If you just want the best price/performance tire the R-s3 is hard to beat. The sherman tank of the bunch is the Re-11, albeit a lot slower than the newer street tires. Had those on my Cayman S and just couldn't kill them. Last edited by MINI135i; 12-01-2016 at 10:55 AM.. |

Great question!
The sensors Tire Rack sells are OEM, we sell them at $54 each. If you call me to place the order we will discuss the TPMS sensors as well. It is recommended to use the TPMS sensors, even for track or winter packages. Without the sensors, the car will be limited to "comfort mode". |

Winter set-up with the 18 x9.5? I know its better to be narrower, but these would probably look better. Tire size the same:

Why aren't there more M3/4 18" wheel options listed when building a winter setup for my F80 ZCP? Why can't the M2 wheel options be used on the M3? For example, the 18" TR Motor Sports C4 are identical in specs. Thanks

265/35-18 like on the M2 is the easiest bolt on fit = bolt on and go! 275/35-18 will likely require more work, max camber, and a front spacer to clear the strut. Being a track specific package, it is not listed on the website. For winter packages, from what I am seeing, we list all of the same wheels for the M2 as we do for the M3. I am not sure why you are not seeing the same. Most the 18" listed are narrower wheels designed for winter packages. Feel free to call or email me directly if you would like to go over the options with me. Thanks! |

There are 22 18" wheel options for the M2 w/245/40/18 rubber but only 12 18" wheel options for the M3 using 245/45/18 rubber

I just ordered a set with 275 71R's. I have camber plates. Some people have needed front spacers. I have 10mm on hand but Active and Milehigh have 15mm for clearance. Non stock suspension, though.
Anybody have these mounted with 275's? curious on spacers. May get a set of Turner 15mm just for safety. |
