Totally agree, squirrelly, but wasn't surprised given the short wheelbase. I'm more of a Sunday afternoon GT player, only recently picked up GT6, but I put down a 7:28 Nurburgring Nordschleife time with traction, stability and ABS disabled. Using Playseat challenge seat and Driving Force GT wheel.

I'm also a casual GT player, but just use the PS controller. I would love to have a seat and wheel setup at some point.

Aside from the wheel arches that will crack on every speed bump, this is pure sex on wheels. Screw it. Leave it as is, I'll just gun it and launch over the speed bumps.

"Sunday afternoon GT player", huh? lol

I had a 7:06 lap time, but invalidated due to a spin after the long straight. A clean lap with a really good driver and a sub-6min time is doable.

Yep, the front spoiler and the wide wheel arches, as well as the scoops on the front of the rear fenders and the back of the rear fender.

You are on the right path , the rear quarter needs amending though and concentrate on the front of the car , especially using the vision for reference on how sharp the intakes and air curtains are. The bonnet and roof bumps too...

But nonetheless your attempt is interesting.

That I like. Not sure that BMW will actually do rear quarter air scoops, and if they do they will probably not be that big. Even so, it would be epic if they did them (assuming they are functional).

I'm drooling at the thought of replacing that spoiler with a pronounced old m3-style CF spoiler, the kidneys with all black, and the mirrors with CF. Simple, sophisticated, classic BMW lines, gorgeous.

@Scott26 The M2 is influenced by the M235i Racing in which this concept looks like a more extreme version.

But if you look at every detail of this concept , every element from the aerodynamic packet to the body sculpture. If we take and shrink it to realistic proportions you get the look of an M car and even so a modern M car with sculpting for air curtains etc.

Even the inclusion of the side breather is an indication how it forms that sculpture at the front wheel arch.
Take a closer look at it and you can see it is more prominent rather than the stuck on look of the M235i Racing. But you also see the progress of evolution from this element on the 1M Coupe.

Even at the rear you can see the ducts that were on the 1M rear bumper assembly carried over and a similar cut-out for the diffuser.
1er M Coupe to M2 Coupe is continued progress but still with the same goal to appeal to younger customers and customers who are young at heart.

But what we have is a perfect base and the ideal source material to create realistic renderings.

To The Bimmerpost renderer artists....its over to you...

Vision Gran Turismo #02
BMW Vision Gran Turismo

Following in the tradition of the successful BMW touring cars of the 1970s, the BMW design team has created an uncompromising road racer for the modern era.
Crisp proportions and a dynamic silhouette give the BMW Vision Gran Turismo the appearance of speed, even standing still. Front and rear spoilers ensure optimum down-force, while all air conduction elements reduce drag and lower the vehicle’s total weight through the use of carbon fibre.
The paint finish in BMW M colours traces the flow of the airstream, recalling BMW Motorsports successes.
The technology in the BMW Vision Gran Turismo is just as impressive as its uncompromising design. A powerful three-litre six-cylinder inline engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology delivers a maximum power of 404 kW/541 BHP between 6,200 rpm and 7,300 rpm. Its peak torque of 680 Nm/69 kgfm is developed at just 1,900 rpm. A sequential six-speed transmission, operated by gearshift paddles on the steering wheel, distributes engine power to the driven rear axle.
The outstanding performance characteristics of the BMW Vision Gran Turismo, which weighs only 1,180 kilograms, include perfect 50:50 axle load distribution.
