Exhaust louder if A/C is on
I just have fabspeed downpipe with Stock tune. I usually don't turn on the A/C as I prefer to drive with windows down. As some of you may noticed our cars can sound different depending on how the weather is. On some days it doesn't sound as loud and pure. During colder and more humid days it will be louder. One thing I realized lately is if you have the A/C on it makes it sound louder and more pronounced especially the pops and burbles.
Does anyone have an idea why this is exactly? |

I think you are listening to ASD not real exhaust sounds.

I have ASD coded off and I've had the car for over 2 years now. I hear exhaust changes tone a decent amount and it's more noticeable during pops bangs and farts when u let off throttle.
If you live in a humid climate then I would say the sound may not affect you as much. But living in the desert it's more noticeable. |

This is normal as with the A/C compressor engaged your engine is under more load. This is why they turn off A/C when trying to accomplish best times around a track.

Last 3 cars I owned did the same thing. Probably my previous ones too just didn't notice it cause they didn't have upgraded exhausts. I think it's additional rpm needed to run the condenser.
