The CS badge on the M3/M4 Comp carries a 45% premium. So you are looking at about ~$85,000 msrp for M2CS. No telling how much for new CSL badge. The GTS was pushing 100% premium at the time. Also take into account the M4 Comp already has a carbon roof, carbon trunk, etc. So the M2 CS premium could be even more drastic, if it adds some of the Mperf carbon parts. Of course this is all assuming allocations are readily available and can actually get one at msrp. If you are interested just be prepared for sticker shock.

Would someone please explain to me like I am a 3 year old what's the difference between a CS, CSL, DTM, GTS, BBW, ATM, BBQ, ect and why so many different variants are needed ?

The pricing sweet spot for me stops at $65k OTD with tax. I would not pay anything more for a small sports coupe BMW.

For the upcoming M2 CSL you will get the same car with ALL carbon fiber bits installed. Not an entirely new car with DCT only and pay $30k more for what a 200 lb savings? No thank you BMW, I would rather go pay little more and get a Porsche.

CS badge gets you an overpriced totted up M3 or M4 for $100k.

GTS badge gets you an M4 that can no longer be daily driven and loses $45,000+ in 2 years.

Thanks but no thanks. I can make my own CS with all the carbon parts and wheels. And a flush tune it, BAAM I have got a CS or CS-P. P for personal.

Agree 100%, those are my picks if going Cayman. Although I've noticed 981 GTS prices creeping up a little. GT4 prices are coming back to earth, with impending 718 GT4.

Was telling him I'll probably wait for a CS model of the M2 and he stated the M3 CSL model is coming and seemed very sure. So I could see this for the M2 platform

No, it wasn't just cosmetic. M4 DTM Champion Edition has the same specs as the M4 GTS including higher engine output with water injection.

I remember hearing that the M4 GTS was for purchase by invitation only now you can get one for the cost of a new M3..

I'm guessing the BMW M2 ATM will be the most expensive M2..

Chasing the "latest and greatest" means suffering. Just buy what you like or love and enjoy it NOW! Most people spend so much money buying something, not driving it much or enough, and then getting enticed by something new. Waste of time.
