I actually like the light weight rubber. Super easy to manuever and they feel like good quality. heavy rubber is cumbersome and doesn't stop water, snow etc. any better.

I must be in the minority, as I'm not a Weathertech fan. Had them in my previous car...found them slippery and the fitment was off. For the M2 I went with the standard BMW winter mats

I have seen to many Weathertech with curled up edges and that awful badge on them. They don't pay me to advertise.

Badging didn't bother me too much, but it was exactly the curled up edges that you described...the mats would bend and deform, and not go back to the correct shape no matter what I did.

My first go with Weathertech mats and I agree the badge is horrendous and the rubber is slippery. The "deep dish" fitment is pretty cool but I'm wary of the curled up edges you guys are talking about.

Given they're half the price and have much deeper channels with much softer rubber, I'll probably stick with the (still expensive) Michelin ones in the future.

I went to the shopbmwusa website and checked these out because I was thinking of doing the same. However when you go to place the order it asks for the quantity. If you indicate "1" for front mats, then the price shown is $106. This may be a silly question but does this mean just one mat or is that price for one "set" of front mats, therefore $106 for a set of front floor mats?

That is for the set of both fronts, they also sell a set of backs.

I bought the full set at around 147 tax included.

As EL BAN says above, the $106 price is for 2 front mats (driver + passenger). A set of 2 rear mats is $62.

However, when I added them to my cart, the price dropped by 10% to $95.40 for the front set, and $55.80 for the rear set, or $151.20 for the set of 4. This makes the price competitive with some of the other online stores, especially when you factor in the free expedited shipping (through Jan 2nd).

Good luck whatever you decide! -scr

I shopped around a while comparing prices, got them at my local dealer when I brought the car in for the break-in service. They were much more but worked with them to get them very close to cheapest price online.

I know this is a really old thread but.... has there been any new options for all weather mats in the M2? I have a LBB M2C on the way and even though this will mainly be a summer fun car I still like to make sure the floors are protected as best possible. Even if it is for improved resale value later on. lol

I just got my car a week ago and the dealer threw in the BMW All weather mats. They are ok but I still prefer to get mats that offered better coverage. My past cars always had WeatherTechs but I hated that they get stained from the dirt so easily. I cleaned them regularly and the stains would not go away. I saw some people recommending online 3d Maxpider mats and I told my buddy about them and he got them for his new car. Those things were indeed amazing. I wanted them for my car but unfortunately they are only available for 3 series and up. Looks like WeatherTech's it is.

I think you will find that the Weathertech mats (although overpriced) are by far the best choice if you live in a place that gets "real winter". All other mats leak once the snow has melted and the carpet gets crusty around the edges. Best tip is to pull your gas peddle and stick a 12" square piece of plastic under it. This stops the salt from your boots/shoes from forming around the peddle. This is the only place that the Weathertech's fail to hold liquid.

Also I made some M stickers for the Weathertech's last year they sold out really quickly but there is another guy making they and they are a huge improvement over the stock sticker.

What do you mean exactly by "pull your gas pedal"? Like remove it? Or are you just putting a piece of plastic under the mat, in front of the gas pedal?

Do you have a picture of what you did?

All mats intentionally leave a big gap between them and the pedal for safety reasons I'm guessing, so there's no chance of the mat pressing down on the gas pedal. I'm sure they could have left a smaller gap if they wanted. Same thing happens with my BMW mat.
