I was at my dealers today for the damage I found on one of my wheels, good news they are replacing the wheel. Anyway I asked if there are any news on the CS/CSL ? No news and they are one of the biggest M dealers in the UK. He said if there is an CS on the horizon you could be looking approx £5000-£6000 extra, a M3 comp is approx £3500 more than a standard M3, for that you get different seats, wheels and some other extras. If the M2 CS comes with the s55 unit that could be another £2000.

He can't see a big drop in the original M2 and showed me 2 M3s , one comp and standard and it was £900 difference.

I think I might have seen you in passing here and there. Do you frequent Old Town Pas? I also have co-workers say they spotted me driving in Pasadena, when it couldn't have been me - maybe it was you!

Good thread TS!

For me it's a keeper. I'll probably still have it 2027. Why? Because it is - for me - right in the sweet spot. Not to big. Chuckable. Good power. The right balance for me between comfort and rawness, it's both my daily and track/autoX toy. I really really love it's very well done compromise that fits me very nicely.

I have actually thougt a lot about it and I can honestly say I don't want any other car regardless of it's price. Yeah there are a lot of dream cars but for what and how I use and need one single car, no, there is no other car I can think of that I'd rather have regardless it's price.

This doesn't mean I don't have a lot of dream cars. But they are just that. And that's fun too.

Saw a matt green wrapped (kind of a military green) M2 in Woodland Hills yesterday! Tried to catch him to snap a photo but I was totally out of position, and he was on the road, heading towards the freeway onramp.

Looked pretty nice, but not my style... If I were going to wrap my M2, I'd go with the matt finish! Both the M2 in Grey and the M2 in LBB, with a matt finish wrap looks stunning!

Even here in Los Angeles, it's amazing how few M2's I see! My M2 build is complete, and I'm waiting for it to get to the dock and be loaded onto the ship for the boatride over to the states, so you can imagine that I'm looking for any M2's I might see on the road, and there aren't many!

Oh... to stay on topic, guess I should wait to get my M2, before deciding if I'm going to keep it, but I have a strong suspicion that I won't be letting it go for a long while!

Xpel makes a PPF that gives a matte finish to the car but keeps your color. Xpel stealth I believe. Of course not cheap to do the whole car!

I live not far from Old Town, and drive through there all the time.

You nailed it IMO. I feel the same way you do. I never cared about the M2 CS, CSL or whatever it's going to be. I really liked my M235i when I had it and it had plenty of power for me, but the M2 is the car I was eyeing from the beginning. The look, the size and the power is just right for me.

I'm holding onto mine! It's my daily driver and an autocross thrill. Looking forward to tracking it as well. From the moment I first sat in the driver's seat, I knew it was the perfect car for me. And that decision will be reinforced as more and more cars go electronic with computer controlled transmissions. I want to DRIVE my car, and the M2 is an amazing driving experience. Can't beat it for the money.

I have just purchased an Original Pre LCI 01/17 build date Mineral Grey M2, fully loaded DCT because the dealer couldn't sell it, this was mainly due to the fact they only ran the advertisement on they're website and nowhere else, so now i have 2, if all goes well ill put it away for as long as i want unless i get a good offer, should the offer be really good ill part with it straight away,

its not even been registered yet so can ship it anywhere no issues.

if anyones interested PM me for more info

Interesting read from Road and Track, 2017, discussing the M3 Competition....

BMW’s launch control doesn’t get the M3 off the line as well as the others manage. By 30 mph, the M3 is a tenth behind the Mercedes and two-tenths behind the Cadillac and Alfa Romeo. The launch rpm is adjustable to between 2800 and 3900 rpm, and we tried everything in between to lower the time, but its 4.0-second run to 60 is the slowest in the group and slower than an M3 without the Competition package. It did, however, pick up the fuel-economy prize with 20 mpg.

The M2 Competition is a hardened warrior, leading the way to conquest competitors from AMG, Audi, Toyota Supra...etc

You may not need it but you will respect it and may even secretly desire it!

I just bought a 2018 "original" M2 and plan to keep it for a long time. I intentionally made the move now before it becomes hard to get a new one of these. It will be a special car for a long time!

Really happy for the future owners, it’s a very nice and «*significant*» upgrade for the M2.
One thing is that i feel like when it will come the time to change the car i would think twice or more before i buy something i like at BMW in case they will throw to my face a better choice just after my hypothetical purchase not saying that i dislike the actual one, i love it but it’s a little bit not fare to do it again

That happens all the time. That’s why you really have to know why you bought the car and be happy with the car you bought otherwise, you just keep upgrading

There’s always something better.

Lexus and Toyota do a good job of not changing the car significantly over the lifespan. That might be a better choice next time for those who feel cheated by forward advancement of a car during the model run (which BMW does all the time).
