Got a new phone and can't seem to get the Music to play but works for telephone calls. Anyone have experiences with this?

go on your idrive under communications --> manage devices --> select your phones name---> there should be a tick under phone if your calls are working, check to see if your music is unticked, if so tick it. That should fix your problem.

Yes I already checked that and the calls are working and the music/audio is ticked.

Always having problems to play music from phone, after a car restar, it would work, sometimes !!!!!!

Mine is mostly consistent and then just cuts out while driving and I have to forget and add again...pain in the butt...

I got it to work. I went into developer settings on my phone and changed the bluetooth AVRCP (media playback related) to 1.4 instead of 1.6.
