The OP specifically called out Future cars...so not sure why you think it is not the part of the point of the thread. Even so, it is just all in good fun, right? Or no...I'm new to this forum. What's the issue?

Let me assure you that it was funny. And while it might have not impressed, it did make an impression. I'd bet it's his go to dating story to this day. Thanks for sharing.

We might need to start a tread on car-related dating mishaps. Corinne, take solace in the fact that you are not alone. Not by a long shot...

It looked sexy and I read ALL the reviews and reckoned this car was going to do it for me. 18 months after ordering it, I finally got it, equipped it with a Fabspeed sports cat and muffler bypass (totally illegal here), shoved some carbon fibre bits and an M-Perf steering wheel on it, plus a full Xpel Ultimate cover. It cost a veritable fortune with the French CO2 tax but I’m hoping to keep this car until I’m too wizened and decrepit to drive it any more. I love it !
That was quite a tale! The only question left is who should play you in the movie?

Have you done anything to the car or is it still stock? For some reason I want to buy an old Volvo again and drop a mustang 5.0 into it and have a kick ass sleeper.

For some reason I foresee another Volvo in my life since my dad has always owned one....I am hoping that it's not a genetic thing since I don't really want a new Volvo.

Ha ha ha... how can you close a deal when you're both rolling around in the snow coughing your guts out ? Besides I generally find that other people don't have my sense of humour so are incapable of seeing the funny side at the time

2017 BMW M2  [0.00]
I got my license in Dec 1984, in chronological order:
1982 Pontiac Trans Am
1976 Corvette (this was my dad's car from new, I 'borrowed' it in 1985 with 30K miles and he never drove again until we sold it in 2005 with 95K miles)
1984 BMW 323i (euro-spec car, one of my all time favs)
1988 Toyota Supra
1992 BMW 325is
1996 BMW M3
1999 Chevy Silverado
2001 MB CLK55
2001 BMW M3
2002 BMW M5 (another favorite)
1997 MB SL500 (purchased from my dad in 2005, I still own it)
2006 Jeep SRT8
2008 GMC Sierra Denali
2004 Porsche 911 Turbo
1995 Porsche 911 Cab
1966 AC Cobra Replica
2001 BMW 325i
2008 BMW 335i
2015 BMW M3
2017 BMW M2
2017 GMC Sierra Denali

Most of these cars had mods and manual transmissions. I know I'm leaving something out. I have never owned a front wheel drive or 4 cyl.

It's still stock. I don't plan on doing anything to it since it's a Family Heirloom for us.

My dad ordered it when he was on his Europe tour of duty and picked it up from the factory. He also had the dash liner custom made with my mom and his name embroidered into it.

It's been sitting in the garage and hasn't been used for awhile so I need to restore it since the paint is fading, it's the signature blue they have, same one they use for Polestar I think.

You don't want a new Volvo? The Polestar 1 looks pretty good though!

2019 BMW M3 CS  [0.00]
2018 X3 M40i  [0.00]
2017 BMW M2  [10.00]
1. 1989 BMW 325. hand me down from mom that i learned to drive in

2. 1998 Honda Accord...swapped out the motor for a JDM Prelude H22 along w/ the tranny. rebuilt the head w/ skunk2 camshafts and Ti valve springs and some other work i don't remember

3. 2001 Toyota MR-S that i eventually turbo'd. did a whole lot of suspension work and tuning on that car and entered it in the Best Motoring "American Touge 2" video. The drift king liked the handling, but said it was underpowered. I came in second place in the class, losing to an e36 M3

which brings me to car 4: E92 M3. Didn't go too wild on the mods on this car....just a few suspension bits and wheels. it was cool, but only really fun on the track.

5. 2011 Yamaha R6S...some kid changed lanes into me while i was splitting lanes in traffic on the freeway. bike landed on my knee and we slid a couple yards on the hot summer asphalt. that sucked a lot.

6. leased an MDX for my wife that i always ended up driving.

7. my current daily driver: i8

8. my current toy: M2

So your dad was the original owner of the Volvo? That's impressive. You don't see many cars stay in the family these days. The new Volvo's do like nice, wouldn't mind the XC90 but I am never going to have kids so going to stick with a sports car for the summer and a big truck for the winter.
