Am I the only person who ordered their M2 without parking sensors?

Looking to get an idea. Feel like i missed out, but i also hate the bumper plugs for those sensors. almost wish they were behind the bumper cover.

They look dumb but I am glad to have them as I regularly park in tight spots.

I like it and find it useful because I do a lot of parallel parking. But if your M2 has rear camera (standard in MY18) and you are attentive, then I think it’s just fine without it.

I do find it most useful in the case of as I am backing into a parallel park space and some mindless individual would walk right in front of the path, sometimes within couple feet. Those people likely haven’t driven a car and unaware that the driver’s rear view is partially blocked by the C pillar, esp. the driver side.

My MG 2018 M2, to be delivered in a little less than a month, was ordered without any options whatsoever.

This was intentional.

As to parking sensors, my 1M, which doesn't need them has them, and my 135is convertible needs them and doesn't have them. I can't imagine that an M2 needs them, unless you are into electronic nannies, that is.

Originally ordered with exec, because I wanted dynamic LEDs. Found local car without exec, but with LEDS so I jumped on it. I also don’t like the way the parking sensors look and I like having a place to put my sunnies on the left.

Living in NY and near NYC my entire life, i've grown accustomed to parking without sensors. I have sensors and a camera in the family car and do not use them.

I use the two round parking sensors that are in my head...a free option.

I love having them, don't mind the look, and wish I had them in front also.

My last car didn't have sensors or a back up camera, so I'm used to parking without nannies, but boy are they helpful.

"If you are attentive" rear view camera does not come without rear parking sensors. Or do you really mean you know they've dropped the link?

Rear view camera is standard now. Parking sensors are a part of the Executive Package.

Edit - Speaking for the US, that is!

Yes, really... This is amazing. I always felt rear parking sensors were an annoying mandatory addition to the rear view camera and now they've admitted it! For US only (even Canada is different) though.

If you need sensors to park a car you should not be driving

I dont think any of us "need" them, but many of us appreciate them. Same with the hill holder function. Needed? No. Do I like it? Yes.

No exec package, just ordered 6 MT and aluminum pedals.

No need for the exec package stuff, and at one point there was a lot of hoopla in BMWCCA about not allowing cars with lane departure, auto breaking, etc. in HPDEs.

I hate the pockmarks on the back bumper (like on the M3, but with the limited rear vision with the top up, they DO help). I don't need the car to tell me to stay in my lane. I live in Florida, so the heated wheel which I'm sure is nice up north, doesn't help me.

I have 2 options. Paint (other than AW) and DCT. I'm very happy.

Mine was a HEA car and came with exec package. Almost two years with the car and I enjoy the heating steering wheel, collision avoidance, back up cam w/ sensors, and lane departure warning... in that order

I do like having the back up cam but man I wish I could mute the damn beep from the sensors!

I've got rear parking sensors (cam) but not the front, I don't even know it is configured that way as my previous F25 LCI had front and rear sensors...

Install the on/off switch = peace and quiet.
