I recently drove my M2 from Seattle to LA. LA has some crappy roads. As a new resident, do you guys have an tips on driving around LA? I know SoCal is a a big car culture. How do you keep your vehicles in tact between bad roads, bad drivers and traffic?

keep your eyes up, be hyper-aware of surroundings, and always assume the worse from other drivers who don't do the above.... and always, always, always look out for Altima drivers. they are the absolute worst

Thanks man. I grew up driving around in New York city but LA is a different beast. I guess getting to know the roads will help.

I think you meant Prius drivers

Yes, there are a ton of canyon roads outside of the major cities/towns near and around LA...head to Malibu, Angeles Crest Forest or GMR for actual driving roads

prius are more like slow moving obstacles. Altimas are the dangerous ones who swerve in and out. you'll notice it more now that i mentioned it lol

Get the car detailed, garage it, and show it off to your friends.

Then, take public transit or use Uber. Way less frustrating and safer.

Except the whole show it off...drive on the weekends when its fun to drive

Which part of LA do you think has horrible roads? Most around the West side are pretty good vs Wisconsin roads after a winter of destruction. We just have really steep driveways which I just go at an angle and seem to be fine. Also the drains for rain in the middle of certain roads and intersections will throw you off but I just go slow.

I've been saying that for years. Altima drivers are the worst for some reason!
