LCI gauge question
Does anyone know if the temp gauge is now oil only? If it is a combo coolant/oil as the manual states (maybe they forgot to update it?) then does that mean the other M cars are also combo since the temp range and icon on the current M4 and M5 are the same as on the LCI M2. If not why would they differ since they don't have a separate coolant gauge either?

Thing is they didn't update the 2018 manual to say anything different. It still says: "Engine temperature display Displays the current engine temperature, based on a combination of coolant and engine oil temperature. As soon as the optimum operating temperature has been attained, the indicator is in the center position. If the engine oil or coolant, and thus the engine, become too hot, a Check Control message is displayed too." |

Thank you, I did read that thread but the manual still says it's a combo reading. I believe you are correct since the icon clearly shows oil and is the same as the M4 as far as range/icon. It's also nice we can set it to remain on permanently even after turning the engine off.
