You've either made some very smart moves or are totally spoiled if you can afford this car under 24 imo.

Just turned 37. I have 2 kids under 5 and a suga-momma(wife makes double what I make and I do pretty well). #1 on two dealers list for CS. #1 for a 4th quarter MY18. Whichever has manual and no rear wing. This will be my track car 80% of the time. Contemplating selling my first love 2007 RS4($78k)that I bought at 28. May hold on to it. While technically not an owner...I already have meetings with Dinan and IND setup. Looking forward to it every day!!!

27 here. I've been very fortunate to be able to have a good career that let's me indulge in fun cars! The way I see it, one of the few moments in the day that are 100% mine is the drive to work and back home. Might as well make it the beast drive as possible.

The prime demographic looks like mid to late 30s. So early 40s is still in the demographic. After all you need some money to get into one of these so there's not as many 20 somethings getting into them.

This poll might differ from regions to regions too... In some part of the world, leasing car is cheap, some other place it's expensive or does not exist at all... and MSRP varies so much as well.
Where I live I can't picture someone under 25 having an M car here, insurance costs alone would be over 5k a year XD In fact anything over 2.0l is made to be extremely expensive to own from the vehicle registration tax to insurance to yearly road tax XD You really have to want one to make it happen... I have yet to see another M car on the road outside mine. |

well I make more money in my 30s than in 20s but now I have less money to spend due to kids' daycare bill and bigger mortgage. in my 20s, I had an E46 M3. I'm now finally getting back to another M after 10 years.

It's true - just wait until you're 42. Asked my father the same question recently, and he said 'yes - just wait until you're 69'. Yipes. (He's literally going faster in his new Cayman S )

Looks like the geriatrics are catching up with the young whipper snappers! At 55, I still remember 55....it was the posted national speed limit. That speed, or lack thereof, feels like you are in reverse, especially in a modern car. I am still hoping for the day when the speed limit becomes a Multiple of 2 (M2) times my age. This, and also before someone/something has to automonusly change my diapers.

55 here and time sure seems to go faster the older you get. Kind of cool though to be the original owner of two M cars '98 E36 M3/4 and '18 F87 M2 LCI (week 35) that are 20 years apart. Will share observations on both once I finally get the M2.

58 here. Can get enough of the M2. I had a 235i prior to the M and a pair of 335i's before that both sport packages and all of the above with manual tyrannies.

I'm 59, and it was the same progression for me. The M2 was the first car to tempt me to leave the E36 behind after 19 years. You'll love it.

Alright, a couple of guys around my age, 59 here. My prior toys for 20 plus years, were boats and the trucks needed to tow them. About 10 years ago, sold the last boat and went back to something I enjoyed in my youth, sports cars.
First BMW, M car, ED and am very happy with the BMW experience so far. A lot of great info on this forum, and look forward to being on here for awhile! |
