It came with Continental tires. Seem sticky enough to me (a 20 year track and autocross driver) during the 105 miles I've put on her so far running around the Blue Ridge Parkway and mountain roads.
Honestly, I"m not sure what all of the fuss is about people getting upset with Contis. Tires are consumables. Oh, and I'm kinda loving the rev match feature. Perfect downshifts every time! |

Speaking for myself only, it's not a big deal either way for street driving. But I've tracked my previous car with the PSS's and didn't think they held up well on track and expect even less with the Continentals. My dealer is swapping out my tires pre-delivery to better track tires, just was curious if I will be selling new Continentals or Michelins. |

I have a set of those new Contis on my 911SC and I like them a lot...plus they are WAY cheaper than the Michelin. I'll have the M2 on the track in a month or two after break in miles so I'll let you know what I think about them then. Need to order some DTC 60 pads for that too. |

No car yet, but eagerly and very anxiously getting ready to take delivery in the next day or so (hopefully). I've never purchased this much stuff for a car solely in anticipation of owning it, before actually owning it
Trying to sort out what I need for this weekend, assuming I take delivery. But, yeah, I probably need some help. |

This is the good part, guys. I checked in here as I was week 15 and picked up my car exactly 2 weeks ago.
My car hit US soil and VPC @ Brunswick, GA. I was picking up my car in Jacksonville, only about 90 minutes away. It was picked up by the carrier on Thursday morning. Genius guy said it would be to the dealer on Saturday (what, via Detroit?). It actually got there on Thursday night. I picked it up @ 1pm on Friday. They finished prepping it while i was filling out my papers. The dealer's prep isn't much, and how long that takes can depend on their staffing. My guy said if the car didn't land until late Friday, it would likely be Monday as they really have a skeleton staff for prep on the weekend. I'm sure that varies by dealer. Almost there guys. oh, Noel911 , the 911 on your name caught my eye. The 911 in MY name most recently refers to, yes my old '78 911SC, which I loved. It saw a ton of east coastish track time from Watkins Glen as far south as Summit Point in WV. Guess now we have 2 cars in common. White looks great. That was my 2nd choice, but LBB won the day for me.

Hope you're enjoying your M2. It's difficult to keep it under 4,500rpm....although that doesn't prevent sliding it around turns. |

SRF is great fluid, the only brake fluid I ever use for cars that see the track. BTW, what compound PFCs are you using? Last edited by Noel911; 05-26-2017 at 09:50 AM.. Reason: Mistake |

I went with the PFC 08. These have been used and recommended by a few of the guys I run with, know very well and respect as drivers/racers. It seems the internets generally agree that this is a great pad to run on track. First time using a PFC pad so looking forward to the upgrade from Ferodos and Hawks I have been using previously. Just not looking forward to sounding like an old, rusty 16 wheeler on the streets so will probably be swapping back to stock pads in between driving events.

HELP
My M2 completed production on 4/26. The BMW Genius said it arrived at the port on 5/1, then a few weeks later the Genius said it arrived at the port on 5/17. Today they said "great news," it arrived at the port yesterday 5/30.
The Genius said they can't supply any more information, contact my dealer. The Dealer checked and can't/won't help. Is there anyone else in Week 17 who's M2 is MIA? Thanks |

BTW, did your dealer charge you the new MSRP or the prior amount when you placed the order? Just curious. |

I paid MSRP as it shows on the BMW NA website now. The dealer notified me around March, which is when I placed the order, that BMW had increased the vehicle cost (I believe it was a few hundred dollars) and I was ok with that. I don't know if the cost has changed since. Great view in that pic of yours. I bet the roads are even better. |

Where is My M2
I ordered my M2 at Towson BMW in October, got my allocation around March. The car was built on 4/26 and since then it's been stuck in Germany. I've been told that it "just arrived" at the port on 3 different dates, the most recent being May 30.
No one, either BMW Genius or Towson BMW, has any more information or explanation. Horribly frustrating! |
