Well.. it is, of course, our goal in life to be a reliable source of information for you.
Or maybe we're just chatting about cars and trying not to be dicks.. |

There's a thread that suggests the MSRP will be 51k or something like that, but I would be really surprised if it came in only 7K more than the 235. That makes a difference for sure in my mind, where it comes in....

I have not even seen the new Camaro yet. It has not been at any European car show I believe and I have not been to LA this year. MR |

Aloha, first post here. I've been lurking Bimmerpost for a long time now as I was very interested in acquiring a M4 through Euro Delivery. However due to the near future arrival of the M2. A car that would more than suit my needs in Hawaii but at a lower cost, it's become my #1 choice. Got my wife's blessing and we already discussed future dates for ED or PCD and drive cross country to ship from CA to Hawaii.

http://www.caranddriver.com/news/201...py-photos-news With the starting price in the most likely low $40k range, 400hp & 350tq, TT engine. This Q60 definitely has me reconsidering my position. Last edited by Aloha Joe; 11-27-2015 at 09:08 PM.. Reason: Typo error on tq# |

As of now, the 4 cylinder is only confirmed by Infiniti for the Q50. C&D assumes that this will be the base engine for the Q60 as well, and while it may prove to be true, I'd only be interested in the V6 TT only.

I used to think that too, but I think BMW is starting to become the Chevrolet of DE. Pretty mainstream stuff for the most part and I have not been very happy with the local dealerships or the way that BMW is standing by some of their shenanigans.

As a former 1M owner, and currently driving a Cayman GTS, as much as I do like the GTS exterior, interior, engine noise, brake power, I do have problems with finding an adequate seating position and more just how it does steer, the thin steer feels awful to me over and over again.
I just can not get used to its steering character and the lack of feeling a thick steer in my hands, so I`m turning it in for the M2 After an E46 M3, E92 M3 and E82 1M, I`m going back to BMW, to me the better DD, better seats, better steering thickness, the Porker is not a bad car, but you `ll have to drive it hard to get the best out of it, then it really shines IMO. Some will find a Cayman an alternative to an M2, for me it`s the other way around. |

What about upgrading to the exquisite Cayman GT4 ? Production has been increased, so you might still get one with some luck. Can't speak for others, but gonna get that ///M Performance steering wheel (but without those paddles ).

Well, for the cost of a GT4 I can drive 2 M2`s
So not really an alternative, the 1M was the best Bimmer I`ve ever driven, I do expect the M2 to be even or even top it, so I will order blindly. |

I don't want to be a dick, but really? Read his post again. It starts with "as a former 1m owner".. I think he stated his reasoning very well, and it's great perspective for those of us who were considering both cars.

It is obvious that the Cayman is the better sportscar, is quicker on the NS compared to a M2, but quicker isn`t always better, that is how most people are reacting. But the question has to be; which of the 2 cars will suit me the best? For me the answer is clear, and it is not the Cayman, although (and I said this in my previous post) is a very good car, but not the car I`m happy with. That`s it, no more no less. I do have som some driving history with ///M, so I`m comming back. |

I am not crazy about the steering wheel on my 981CS either, but I think TechArt makes some nice alternatives - not a bad choice either way.

If you don't believe how Romo could have come to this decision then simply start pulling up 1M reviews.. I have no doubt that the 1M will be compared to the GTS.. or maybe even the GT4..... surely that will probably happen.. .unless BMW announces M2 CSL info first to stop the auto review mags from comparing them. I can see the Motor Trend.. Mustang GT350 vs M2 vs Cayman GTS article already.. |
