OEM system has the same dent. Probably due to chassis stiffener location.

I noticed on on the stock mustang exhaust when I replaced it, the aftermarket did not have one and it wasn't due to space. I figured it was due to sound management but never found out for sure.

What's the cell count of Akra's downpipe with cat?

And it is purple...
Titanium gets purple if you push the car hard... More purple the exhaust, the harder it is been driven!
The Akrapovic exhaust on my car is purple starting at the downpipe and then about 1.5 meters backwards. Really cool! Let's try to get it completely purple heheheh MR |

False. The rear diffuser is an option but not a requirement.

From the picture, Akra DP is a dual chamber design just like HJS Euro 6 300 cell downpipe. Are you sure it's 200 cell?

This exhaust annoys me because by using two midpipes instead of a single design, they add weight and thus reduce the point of making it out of titanium. $6k for 14lbs savings is not acceptable to me. I can have a custom titanium exhaust fabricated locally for $3k that is much lighter than the Akra one.

Just installed this exhaust over the weekend and it sounds fantastic! As usual the fitment is spot on and the sound clips online do it no justice. No downpipe in my case, yet.

Could someone kindly explain what this cell number business is all about ? Is 300 cell better than 200 cell or wot ?

Ah ok I've found this explanation: "A Catalytic Converter (CAT) is made of many little cells where are deposited high value metals which will take care of oxidizing the gazes that were not fully oxidized in the engine. A 400 CELL Cat means there are 400 of these cells per square inch. As this number goes down, the amount of physical cells decreases therefore generating fewer constraints for the exhaust flows. The good compromise is often to use 200 CELL cats (typically 400cell is what is used by car manufacturers). If we go too low in CELL value, the oxidation process is not well performed. An engine check light will pop up and it is likely that if there is not enough back pressure you will have the same issues described in answer No2".

Haha! It's pretty much like walking a tightrope. Too little cells and check engine light will pop up. Too many cells and exhaust flow is restricted - robbing power.
